They've 40,000 people to move to and from Glasgow.

We'll assume each bus is H47/32F (total 79 seats). That's 510 buses.

Admittedly some of the work has been sub-contracted to First, but it's still a huge operation!


Must've missed the posts about the Scanias arriving. Still no end in sight for 14208 then

I've got pics of the scania's on my fotopic i took them the day after they turned up, they will probably keep 14208 going till it's MOT or tax runs out.

Has MEs decker PVR gone up by 2 or not? If 14208 is probably staying until it needs work, effectively it won't have been replaced...

Yes it has gone up by 2 with the preston college contracts.

15679 and 15681 have gone to scotland for the pope's visit and when they come back the following events will happen;
14195(for preston),17019 and 17022 to be withdrawn.
The Bri-tech destination blind is to be phased out with 14195 going to preston(no doubt they will change it),20133 and 20463 to have old or new hanover blinds,
21007 is having the L.E.D out of 20127(supposed to be at kendal) which is to gain an hanover flip-dot.

Wonder how long Preston will have that Leyland!!!

I guess we can assume that ME intend to keep all the Ms in service for a while if 20463 and 21007 are to get new blinds. Would be nice to give 21005 an LED so all 4 match but it already has a Hanover so no point really

Out to Garstang today on 15679. Back on 16665. Have to say that I still feel the older buses give a better ride. Oh, and lovely though that panoramic glass on the upstairs of the Scanias is - it's impossible to sit for long in the sunshine!

Probably as long as we need it and depending what get released from elsewhere, we're pretty stretched with these new Preston College contracts at the moment and the peak extentions to Accrington too... PVR went up by 7 the other week and we'd only recieved/kept 16184, 16328, 16352, 16647 and 17021... of which most were used for service before. Plus 34620 seems a perminent resident at Fleetwood at the moment for the 86/89's as the 2 ex Lincolnshire Darts are still far from ready. Possiblity of 33143 being used once its fixed, even though its intended for Cumbria.... and not Lillyhall!

16874 is still sat at LL. Not sure if there's anything wrong with it though.

Well with 17019 not needed by Chorley and 17022 has yet to be reallocated so unless these are staying at Morecambe they could be used elsewhere to displace vehicles to areas with increased PVR's or go to those areas themselves? The problem with these PVR increases are the majority are for AM and PM peaks, M-F during term time, so for most of the time vehicles are techincally not needed and Stagecoach don't tend to like vehicles just sitting around...although its always very handy to have spares!

17022 is supposedly for Carlisle's 554 service, which will finally join its connecting service as a low floor service, after 3 years!

20913 and 47023 on Moorclose.
47024 and 47062 on Seaton. 47062's front display dead again.
47059 and 47061 on Harrington.
all 4 Scania's on 300.
20436 on X4.
20919 short 300.
20918 on 1415 48.

Lillyhall actually took a step entrance bus off service today, and replaced it with a low floor! 22600 came down as staff shuttle, and then replaced 20931 on 30 and 31! 34616, 35246 and 16733 also on 30 and 31.

All town services had solos on until early afternoon.47007 was on 51 before 20913 took over.
47023 since its breakdown has found powerrrr! Engine sounding pretty healthy and rapido whist on board, not even struggling to get up Newlands lane

If it we me I would send 17019 for the 554 and 17022 to pair up with 17021 at Preston. If Preston are getting a Leyland they must be rather desperate! I would have thought that a lot of Olys will become free all over the country and this may benefit the NW. But who knows, we'll have to see. There are of course still Vol Olys on disposal at Manchester. I think most of these are short and so no ideal but could still be useful.

I wonder if those two darts at Fleetwood will ever see service! They seem to be more trouble then they are worth!

depends what routes they do i dont think theyd use minibusses for carlisle routes or long routes so probably town routes. dont no what or where though

18356 is in desperate need of some new bottom panels! ATM they're all really dented.

33143 is looking like it is off to Kendal once finished down Preston, but that isn't confirmed.

I saw this on Thursday heading up Georgian Way in Carlisle away from Willowholme in full Stagecoach livery displaying 'Not in Service' on the front. I didn't see where it went after this but could be related...

it'll be whichever is still at Carlisle then. 47756 possibly, can't remember now. whichever one is still there, has Cumberland Motor Services in it, awaiting legals being applied.
with any luck it is for Lillyhall, who's minibus PVR is increasing to 12 on 4th October, leaving only 1 spare with the current allocations. although, that spare would never really been seen, with 34079 often dying out, and Solo's being rather useless as ever!

35249 is also up there for repaint, hence B10M's on 31A while 2 Darts have been on 30 and 31.

47024 on 47. got stuck behind it crawling along at 20mph, on flat roads!
47005 on Harrington, going rather quickly, although, i think that has something to do with the driver who was on it :roll: i've only ever seen it go fast with him on.
