If you're suggesting it was a legitimate response at the time it was sent and the situation hadn't already greatly escalated that point, she is quoting a colleague saying "I have never seen anything close to this. This is tragic to watch".

Now it appears the Dems have taken both Georgia seats, the Senate is 50:50. Interesting scenario if the House votes to impeach Trump in the next two weeks, and the casting vote goes to ... Mike Pence.

Indeed. AP have now called both seats for the Democrats. Warnock is now leading by 1.5% and Ossoff by 0.61% - both now outside the 0.5% margin for a recount, with both margins likely to grow since it's mainly Democrat areas still to be counted. One piece of extremely good news amongst today's chaos.

I'm pretty sure that if such videos existed, much of the media (and remember there are a fair few left-leaning and unbiased media outlets in the US) would be giving them quite prominent coverage, since that would very obviously be a national scandal (unless it was done for some obvious safety reason). Since that hasn't happened, I'd surmise that they probably don't exist. (If I'm mistaken feel free to post a link. Otherwise, I do feel that we should perhaps be careful about spreading unfounded rumours. Trump and the Republicans have already done more than enough of that, and the events of today clearly show where that leads )

OK thanks for the link. That video certainly raises questions, but I'd be a bit cautious in jumping to conclusions. Firstly, looking at the video, the police are obviously massively outnumbered by the protestors so there's probably not a lot they can do. Secondly, it looks to me like the fence is being removed (I can't make out whether it's by a policeman or a protestor) allowing the protestors to move into an area that's already occupied by protestors (watch at the camera pan at the end of the video, and also ask yourself where the person filming the video must be standing). That suggests that particular barrier may not be very significant.

Maybe there's something dodgy going on, maybe not. Certainly worth querying what happened, but like I say, I wouldn't jump to too many conclusions based on that short clip without more info.

I’m not making any conclusions, I’m just saying this and other similar footage is circulating under the banner of instances of police collusion. Whether the context is correct or not remains to be seen.
