Clearly I have. And I am prepared to use a one ramp to embark and disembark from this train at the station/platform concerned at my own risk. If you want to you can go ahead and arrange that. I am available anytime.

No, use of a single ramp on a 142 is NOT PERMITTED, it is a breach of Health and Safety regulations.

If you have been carried on a 142 traim to Guide Bridge before, have you been allowed to make this journey unofficially? In other words, have the staff been doing you a favour and this has now been stopped?

Have they? I never knew that. No one once said 'Hey am going to do you a favour but if you fall over and injure yourself then that is not my fault' or something to that accord.

you cant use one ramp on a 142!!!!!!!!!!! And you wouldnt be allowed - it breaches h & s.

This could be the crux of the matter. Mr Khaliq has been (unofficially) allowed to get off the train previously by staff, this is not now allowed, possibly because the company is worried about liability, regardless of whether the customer states he will do it as his own risk.

I await the answer to my question.

I missed the reply. But it doesn;t answer the question really.

When you have, as you say, travelled on a 142 train from Manchester Piccadilly to guide Bridge, have you ever been informed that getting off there with a ramp is not really allowed, but that the member of staff will let you do it? Have you ever been informed that you should really only catch the 323, a bigger train that is better able toc ope with the platforms at Guide Bridge?

I ask this because so much of your argument is that you should have been allowed to travel because you have done so before, you are prepared to use an unsuitable ramp at your own risk, and that if there was some sort of problem the TOC should have put it right undr the DDA 1995. I would ask you, therefore, to clarify whether you have ever been aware of any difficulty at that station with access to and from a particular type of train.

I am starting to suspect that you are actually a very clever troll. All the signs are there.

I'm starting to think he's just a big attention seeker, which is why the thread was started on DS - not for advice (where the thread started - but where advice was ignored), but to become famous.

The media has probably lost interest, until they can get the other side of the story (and if they read any thread, they'll run a mile) but the forum will last for years. He's now finding a few people that will side with him no matter what, making him feel more important and less of a victim.

This has become bigger than the incident in question - it's now a war of words and a case of who you side with - someone in a wheelchair who feels wronged, or a guard who appears on video not to care.

Another thing - it was said by 'Tony' that the service is usually excellent - so on that basis, why would you take one incident and try and make it look like it's the norm?

I ranted a lot about my incident with an RPI on FCC but that has never made me hate FCC or find ANY excuse to slag them off. In fact, I've defended them on loads of things before and after. Nor did I mention that person by name, or post photos or anything else that could affect his career - besides any action taken by the train operator. That's how it should be.

Why should they have to say it? If they are doing something unofficially the last thing they are going to do is broadcast it!

Why are you asking me? Put a request into the Network Rail or whoever has jurisdiction over the cctv images. What a childish and immature post.

Neither of us will get access to CCTV so please stop saying that CCTV will prove this, that or the other. Does Guide Bridge even have CCTV?

And given you can't remember certain details, like the exact time you travelled (the last time, you stated a time of a train you got that was shown to be the 'other' train type - so you said you couldn't remember exactly). How does anyone check CCTV if they have to start from weeks back and then watch EVERY SINGLE MINUTE to find if you were there or not?

And what quality do you think this footage is? And is it smooth, flowing, video or time-lapse? Does it have sound?

No, really, I've seen you mention CCTV loads of times but it's one of many red herrings.

Because we say something, he makes up complete bull and doesnt answer the question straight, and it goes on and on the answer is simple - the guard was doing his job and kept within all the rules. I'm not eager, but it'll just be Questions and bull, questions and bull

Yes, but we've got 80 pages to go to catch up with DS! Hopefully the site owners are earning a few quid from AdSense out of this. :D

Agreed - please can we let this subject and this thread die down now?

Why? If Mr K really wants to continue to continue his journey in to this hole of every increasing depth, who are we to stop this?

What I do hope is that the guard is/has been re-instated PDQ. This whole situation is completely unacceptable, particularly as the full facts are not known by the public at large and all we have is a sensationalist video and a media circus surrounding it.

It is a sad state of affairs really, and I am not referring to the situation Mr K got himself in to either.

We'd have to check them carefully. Better check Russia's too just in case they've got a different viewpoint.
Do you want to ring up GCHQ and see if they've got any tips as well?

lol, OK i withdraw my request to lock this thread :D :D This is close to being the 4th most replied thread on this part of the Forum :D

What are you drinking tonight? And what IS the difference between an excuse and a reason?

That'll cover 50 pages or so.

Being accused of not taking thing seriously will be another 10 or 15.

Pointing out that we ARE taking it seriously, even though the situation is now a joke, will cover the rest.

If you were not given what you thought was an acceptable reason for being declined access to the train why did you not ask for an explanation instead of shouting 'the other guy got fired'?

In fact this thread highlights that the guard would then definitely NOT give you permission to board after you produced your video camera/phone as he was not allowed to.

Notice how he says he contacted Boots first! He's had his moment of fame, but also highlighted a problem within the organisation that can be dealt with properly.

I do not think that Mr K's reliance on CCTV footage is well founded. There seems to be an assumption that it will be available - but if CCTV is installed, there will be a policy of how many days (hours, even) recordings will be kept before they are overwritten with the next recording, in the case of tapes, or deleted, in the case of electronic copies on disc. That period is not something with which, I believe, he will be aware.

If the investigation expects to make use of CCTV footage it will presumably have ensured that recordings for periods in question have been taken out of the the usual recycling loop - but on information provided, it looks like the only action which could have been taken is to ensure preservation of Manchester Piccadilly's records for the day/time of the incident.

To "tony" why aren't you able to answer the same question consistently with the same answer on the same forum nevermind from forum to forum. Why when under pressure do you trott out the discrimination line when to be honest from what I read on here before I joined anyone who joins looking for sympathy who blatently isnt telling the whole truth is dealt with in the same fashion.

Now lets start again, when was the last time you used a class 142 with 2 part ramp on the eastbound platform (the ones that journey from Manchester arrive at ?
When was the last time you used a 2 part ramp and where?
When did you last use a 142 and on which journey?
Why did you deny ever using a 2 part ramp on DS saying the logistics are basically impossible to use one then decide on here that you had?
Do you actually have selective memory?

Here's another way of dealing with a situation:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-11104691

Not the first time this happened and I doubt it will be the last. The problem with a lot of these loyalty card schemes is that no ID check is needed to apply. You just fill in a coupon and post it off. They're often freepost so you don't even need to buy a stamp. The fact that someone has filled one in and sent it in using (probably accidentally) this man's address and a false name isn't totally the company's fault. How many such applications do they get, and it stands to reason that the odd one will slip through the net. However, hats off to the gentleman involved for going through a sensible and mature complaint procedure with the company to identify that there has been a problem and allow them to investigate properly.

Mr Khalid, what do you plan to do if you don't get the response you want from Northern Trains?

(RE: Boots story)

When the reporter said that he'd not asked for it, I did assume it had been registered by someone as a joke. The thing is, they may have a system to block certain words but they're probably swear words and not 'suicide' and 'bomber'. I'm sure they've now been added to the blacklist though!

Obviously nobody is really to blame - it's probably all automated, especially if the form was filled in online or a form that is read by computer. Yes, it highlights the potential for this to happen - but you can't have a 100% foolproof system anymore than a railway that's 100% disabled friendly when using ancient rolling stock.

Why won't you answer the questions in post #333? I assume because it will incriminate you and your story?

The media will be doing a further report in the coming weeks.

And lets hope they prove you to be the fraudster that your posts on here and the DS thread prove you to be. You are a disgrace... for anything that Northern and their staff may have done wrong, you have embarassed yourself beyond any reasonable recourse with your inaccuracies and proved yourself to be no more than a one man mission to cause trouble. Unfortunately, other people have been dragged down to your level as a result.

Oh by the way just as a side, a complaint has been lodged with the BBC regarding the coverage and they have been directed to the Digital Spy thread along with this one for evidence of Tonyaryans' story telling.

Anyone feel like joining in on that please do so

I used a similair train as in the video (could be the same one) twice within one month prior to the incident on the route Manchester Piccadilly to Rose Hill.
When was the last time you used a 2 part ramp and where?

I have used a two-part ramp once before (within the last month) but the guard was not able to put it down in an appropriate way. Therefore he used the one single ramp. On other ocassions I have used only the one single ramp on this route and disembarking at Guide Bridge.
When did you last use a 142 and on which journey?
Will not be able to correctly recall this as within month prior to incident I used diferent trains totalling 3-4 dozen times.
Why did you deny ever using a 2 part ramp on DS saying the logistics are basically impossible to use one then decide on here that you had?
Do you actually have selective memory?

I dot deny using it. A guard tried putting the two ramp down but could not find out how to best do it.
