Has there historically been any instances of customers requesting/suggesting route changes on social media and those changes actually being considered/implemented?

I wrote on LB's Facebook today suggesting a slight reroute of the N26 in order to better serve Wallyford and Prestonpans through the night as there are multiple housing developments in the area and a poor early morning/late evening service to compliment these developments.

Should I hold my breath hoping that these comments may be looked at or accept that there's not a snowball's chance in hell?

You should try, people in Linlithgow kept asking for a Lothian Country service and they got it (all be it now its Withdrawn but still).

Saw bus 175 today, it has the normal Hanover dests now (same ones as 186-190)

Came here to post this myself as it just passed me on Niddrie mains. Could have sworn it had the other ones when I saw it last, ah well.

== Doublepost prevention - post automatically merged: ==

Bus 9 was on the 36 today . I thought 171-175 would also serve the 36

There's no reason why they wouldn't, they've been on the 38/30 - they're 5 buses out of 50 single decks at Longstone.

I thought Lothian saw the end of Fauldhouse when the X17 was curtailed but with the 281 reintroduced I have faith they might bring a service back to Linlithgow

Realistically you only have hope if what you’re suggesting costs little (or nothing) to implement. A small route change may sound easy to do... but if there’s not enough spare lag time or an extra bus/driver needs adding in it won’t happen. Unless of course there is proven demand ready and waiting or a housing developer is contributing.

I don't think there's enough slack in the N26 timetable to add Wallyford -the layover at Seton Sands is only about 5min so even a loop up to the P&R would be pushing it.

As more gets built around Wallyford then I think we'll see adjustments to the 44 and 113 to better serve the new housing towards the A1 junction to the west and south of Strawberry Corner on the east side.
I can see the 44 terminus changing and a loop into the west housing added and the 113 diverting through the housing near the new school

N26 used to do a loop around Port Seton so if that's what you suggested they bring back then I can see them considering it.
Strangely, they sighted the 20mph speed limit in town as the reason they stopped the loop...make of that what you will.

I think we'll see the 44 continue to use its current route with the 104 coming off the A1, going in as far as Fa'aside Avenue before turning round and using the new road (Futures Way?) to get over to the recycling plant.

I had suggested a deviation from the current route at Levenhall Roundabout, following the 124 route into Prestonpans before turning down Prestongrange Road and rejoining the route on Prestonpans High Street.

Having since checked the timetable myself, I've noticed that there is indeed little slack so sadly it's doubtful that anything can come of this.

A shame, as it will be a while before the developments are completed/large enough to warrant dedicated bus links.

Also, Futures Way is complete however is not open and has been in this state for nearly 2 years. I'm unsure as to why it has not yet opened but what is a massive shame is that when the road does open, it's littered with speed bumps which is understandable outside the school, but not the whole way around.

I wouldn't like to be on any bus going round the new link road for the new houses. The speedbumps are full length ones, litter the full length of the road and are absolutely vicious!

Ah cool. I thought something more like 124 route from Musselburgh then down either Shaw Road / Appin Drive to the normal 26 route.

Yeah cycled up both sides of Futures way during lockdown. Rather confused why its not been opened as it would remove traffic from passing through Wallyford. Lots of locals seemed to skirt the fencing when walking their dogs but didn't fancy it on the bike / couldn't see a way through.

And you’ll probably find that Lothian/East Coast actually refuse to send any buses around there until this issue is rectified. As per usual designers not taking buses into account in their plans.

Similar situation happening at Greendykes. New road layouts/roundabout totally unsuitable for buses to negotiate or pass eachother. What makes it frustrating is multiple routes serve these roads (and have done for a few years) so no excuse!

Got it for this evening - shame they've replaced the high density unit as I thought it looked quite good.

I prefer these dests to the high density ones, personally look much smarter. I saw it earlier and took a picture from inside a bus but due to the window being wet it didn't come out very well. Thanks for the photo. It might've been you driving, it was around Half 3

I had to get to the new school on several occaisions for the local resiliance team and those bumps are awful -even at a crawl the van bounced badly on them

I think folk are not sure whether it's actually an open public road or not (and it's been blocked on and off over the last months) - If people want to bypass Wallyford the A1 is still the better option (especially with those bloody speedbumps!)

I've been along once on the push bike, you can squeeze round the back of the sub stations at each of the two blockades but the combination of that and the fierce bumps meant it was the first and last time I'll go along that way!

I think they'd need to make major changes to get a service along there, which I just can't see happening. That said bus stops and shelters are fitted!

I notice 81 and 82 both have live trackers and are showing at seafield. Can anyone from longstone confirm if they’ve heard anything or have any new buses there yet?

None of the new buses are at Longstone yet. I've heard rumours some might be out next week from different sources but I'll believe that when I see it.

I wonder if these will be switched off soon? I believe bus 73 was turned on for a bit as when you type it up nothing comes up, however for bus 74 + it still comes up at the equator.

E&M Horsburgh have RIG 6491 and RIG 6492 from East Coast Buses, do they have anymore B7RLE's from Lothian buses ( Lothian City, East Coast Buses or Lothian Country)?

Apologies, may you reword this, I don't understand.
The forthcoming single deck buses for Lothian was what I was referring to.
They are coming up in threes or fives and are being prepared as they arrive.

Why would we switch the trackers off? after a vehicle is demobilised, the trackers have a battery in them to keep them live for a few days.

there are a few on site now.

Sorry to bring up 20942/942/whatever you want to call it again - as it was (I think?) rebuilt using the roof of a B7TL does it have the upper rear end of a Gemini 1 or were parts used to complete it to the original updated style rear?

I've only briefly seen it and didn't get a look at the rear.

Inner parts are Gemini (B7), outer parts are Gemini 2 (B9)

Interesting! I wonder how difficult that was to fit the two together as the shapes look quite different to the untrained eye. At least they did a proper job unlike this bus that recently had a new roof grafted on from an older shape ELC double deck! (photo of a badly cobbled together double decker for description)

It was there before going to ECB, presume it was the one freed by 20942s return?

That would certainly lengthen it's allocation history of LB, LMC, LCB, ECB, LMC and possibly LCB again!
850 is at LCB for the Amazon Contract, will it remain at LCB once the Contract is over or move back to Marine? https://www.flickr.com/photos/blaircamerontransport/50576621611/in/pool-3426208@N20/

(not my photo)

Canteen talk, i know, but ive heard the large vehicle order due next year is going to include 8-10 for ECB.

Allowing their allocation of LMC branded vehicles to go back to Lothian with most being repainted and a few being kept for LMC.

If that were true then ECB would have a fleet made up mostly of buses new to ECB, and the 2010 Gemini Twos would be the oldest by 7 years, despite only being 11 years old (by next year), which is pretty good going.
