The following have just been seen around Garstang today:

Morecambe FC Tridnet heading towards Preston 41

18365 heading towards Morecambe on 40

17023 heading towards Lancaster on 42

Not all good, just seen either H195 or H196 headeing south out of garstang, possibly on 42.

and 40033 parked in the bus stop on Windsor Road making a narrow road even trickier to negotiate!! Nothing on LED display and no signs by it so dont know what it is doing, nobody around to ask.

I have to say that I havent seen many of the Scanias out today, wonder if they are in for servicing or something, mind you, good to see a low floor decker on the 42, hope this is a sign of things to come.

Any news on the major changes happening in Preston that we were given a hint of last week? The suspense is getting too much!!

Would be good to see Tridents on the 42, whats the PVR for that service?

Not sure what the PVR for the 42 is, but it is really good to see it using L/F buses, especially Tridents as a MAN is not ofetn large enough, I have used it several time recently and by the time you hit Poulton it can be standing room only. Hopefully when the changes occur at Morecambe in Sept, they can try and ensure a low floor is on it all the time.

I'm not sure, somebody said it has been finished with in Lancashire on the side so I assumed it was ready to go to Chorley but could be wrong.

Spotted it on the VOR sheet for today, must be at Cowling, with the schools not being in, theres not really a reason for anyone to be down there, apart from the odd standby bringing up a bus, so i dont know any more info on it.

Also spotted 47472 buried away in the lanes at Stockport last night..

Out in Workington today;
47061 and 47007 on Seaton
47007 and 47062 on Harrington - 47062 had a dead front display had boards up with Brierydale on
47059 and 47060 still out on Moorclose
20910 on 1415 Northside
16652 on annex mostly all day
52628 on the X4 today

Traffic very slow in workington today, at the A66 Ramsay Brow junction, there are roadworks and temporary traffic lights, although I have heard from people that it is closed today from Stainburn School roundabout into town, if the case, will cause problems for the X4/5 - not confirmed details though. Work on the roof/beams is continuing on stands A and B side, town services still on annex - adding to the congestion when the access is blocked

Scania's PX60 BEJ and PX60 BDZ have arrived at LL

:D excellent! can't wait to see a few pics of them :)

35249 went out on 1600 Moorclose 51 and looks to be out for rest of day
Stainburn School roundabout to town reopened late this afternoon :D

It works around there now along with some of the rest of the batch, they got spread far and wide from Preston, some to the south coast, others to Manchester, Fleetwood now have a fair few. Preston only have 47486/7, 90-2/4 left of the 25 that were delivered. Fleetwood have 47493 plus some more of the 4748*, while many of the 4747* bar 47474 have left the area.

The PVR for the 42 I think is 3 as it works out just over an hour each way.
Has the Morecambe FC Trident got its new logos on and graphics yet for the new stadium?
Also, Chorley could have done with that Trident available today, as there appeared to be a SOLO on the 125 this afternoon around 1420 leaving Preston!

I wasnt close enough to see if the advert had been altered at all. Maybe Gez will tell us.

It is a shame the PX07 Solos got so split up, they should have sent the PO51 and KX51 series away instead, that way there would be decent buses in West Cumbria.

I wouldnt be surprised if and when the Preston Bus sale gets closer, some of the 51 plate Stagecoach Solos are swapped with some of the 07 Reg P Bus ones and maybe also some of the Volvo Olys with the L/F Tridents and Scanias - just like when they sold off the Burnley & Pendle arm to Lancs Utd, old stock from across the country to Burnley for that sale.

Just depends what they need, you have to remember that with Blazefield it was a lot of almost new stock bought by stagecoach and to stagecoach spec in East Lancashire being swapped with former NBC and Ribble cast offs and non-standard vehicles. This was back in a time where the stagecoach buying policy was slightly more regional and a lot less formatted as it was now and it was starting to change to the formatted style we see today.
It will be interesting if they do, the entire Deepdale Solo fleet has Mercedes power packs, with Stagecoach favouring MANs powered Solos still (even though the Mercedes option is still available and MAN have fallen out of favour).
47796/7 did run for Frenchwood depot for a time but were quickly sent back, the 51/02 reg Solos at Preston Bus are in a pretty simular state to the ones around the rest of the group and the Tridents have been worked hard and 18582 at least struggled on the longer runs when we had it at Frenchwood. The Scania's are good buses, just depends whats needed and when.

18363 is having it's new vinyls done soon along with 18362(ERIC), 40033 is being used as a staff shuttle due to the closure of the bus station and it might have been switched off if the L.E.D blind wasn't working.
15680 and 15682 had attention on them from ADL has they are having cab light problems as well as fuel leak problems(your turn lillyhall)
and the 12:47pm Lancaster-Blackpool is normally a 17xxx trident as it's the last bus to garstang at night does a preston then comes in the wash for fueling at 11:45am before it goes back out.

Wouldn't normally post on a non-rail thread but...

I use the 42 regularly, when it is a single decker (which it quite often) it is sometimes PACKED FULL after Garstang. I have been on it on Thursdays (Garstang market day) and Saturdays when it has been completely full (seated and standing) and no-one could be let on at Poulton. In my opinion it would really benefit from full time double deckers on the route!

The other Stagecoach services I use a lot (61/68/X61) are very rarely as full as the 42!

Very interesting!!! It could be that the 3 remaining S reg Tridents are used on the 42!

Its seems a lot of new Scanias are needing attention after delivery. Western had leaking problems with their's!

How come the "shuttle bus" is coming as far south as Garstang? Are timings etc been affected that much with the bus station closure?

No pics 'till they have been branded unfortunately. :( The other 2 expected very soon.
17017 will hit the road when it's air leaks are sorted.

Seems like an odd request!!!

Hopefully wont be to long for 17017!

20128 has been out and about in the lakes today, isn't it the one that was meant to be coming to ME...?

Also will the B10B's ALL be withdrawn when ME movements have settled down?

Indeed!

Are they going to brand the 2 that have arrived ASAP or wait till all 4 have arrived? Also, do we know for certain what is leaving LL, Leylands or Volvo's...?

Also maybe a question for Gez but are SC keeping spare buses in town now that the bus station is closed? In other words to you have a layover area of sorts?

Ahh right, if they brand them like Urban Connect in Lancashire I think they will really look the part :) have you seen them yourself yet?
Air leaks  fingers-crossed not too long for 17017 then :)

Out with the old most likely, which will mean leylands :/

Will look forward seeing and becoming passengers on them :D Will be good to see what the regular commuters reaction and thought about the newbies will be also!

Be better then Olys but not mindblowing lol. The Versa's really impressed me when we first got them but the Scans didn't, still nice buses tho!!!

Read a comment on a fotopic site that suggested CE are gaining an S reg for the 554...I assume if they do it will be 17022!

Unless one of the garstang drivers is using it to get back to base.

That`s what lancaster was going to do but we got rid of 4 low-floor deckers instead!!
