Hence the proposals assume 2tph Euston to Wolverhampton stopping only at current ICWC stops, and then the Trent Valley via Coventry one as a way of keeping 3tph fast London-Coventry.
But that then lays a lie to the idea that there is more capacity for local connections in the West Midlands which is the whole premise of the scheme. It really is difficult to simply tear up the timetable and prioritise local journeys.

Or London, in the case of the Scotland service.
And, furthermore, Coventry would still want faster services to Birmingham.

Plus, the other side of Birmingham is Wolverhampton (and Shropshire), who'd very much like to keep a London service, if not see it improved.

Hence the proposals assume 2tph Euston to Wolverhampton (and beyond) stopping only at current ICWC stops, and then the Trent Valley via Coventry proposal is a way of keeping 3tph fast London-Coventry.

Oh yes I forget about the Avanti Scotland services. I was thinking about the XC Scotland services.

Well Coventry-Birmingham is a local journey! ;)

Moving from a 20-minute cycle to a 30-minute one on the Coventry corridor (while keeping 4tph only calling at Birmingham International between) does seem to allow an uptick to 4tph semi-fasts to Northampton/Leamington from 3tph. And West Midlands plan on 4tph stopping out to Birmingham International post-HS2 (currently 1tph). Plus the irregular stopping patterns on the London Northwestern services seem to be fixed by the change in time signature.

They were moved from CrossCountry to West Coast a while ago!

Sorry, I was referring to the XC Penzance/Reading to Scotland via ECML.
