Lothian have said they are getting seat vinals made, so they can direct folk where they should and should not sit, so I would mark that down as taping off seats. https://www.lothianbuses.com/help-us-to-help-you

Our suppliers are manufacturing seat vinyls that will be fitted to seats on our vehicles to help advise where to sit. These will start to appear shortly. In the meantime, please use every other seat where possible.

If you are travelling with other members of your household, please sit together to leave seats free for other customers.

Believe the plan is for all east coast fleet to get screens fitted then head to central. From central, drivers shuttle them down to Musselburgh and pick up a Lothian Bus to take back.

Eventually the singles will do the old switcheroo too.

Deckers as far as possible. I should imagine every single B5 will be out with B8's then the early Enviros and B9's making up the shortfall.

The screens i've seen, at least on the B9s, aren't of the same type fitted to the main fleet. They look to be fixed in place (so can't be put up/down) with no holes.

Also the majority of 442-455 are out in service today on city routes after returning from ECB.

The temporary ones fitted have been created from drawings provided by Wright, however, the plastic used is substandard and is being known to cause excessive glare. Their also not bulkhead to windscreen screens, they stop just behind the ticket machine.

Screens are being created for the remainder of the fleet.

Thanks, I remember you saying there were screens for the B5s and B9s but wondered about the 8s. Sounds like they are taking the right steps to address, which is no less than you'd expect of course.

10101/10102 are currently in storage. I reckon they'll be back. We're going to need every single vehicle in each fleet, and probably more... hopefully ADL are back at work.

Im not clued up enough on the ins and outs of the Ex-First fuelling system at ECB but i believe its so the company can track each vehicles fuel usage. The system was kept in place to save on costs. I think there's a mode that allows vehicles outwith the fleet to fuel. But in actual fact, i think those that were on loan to East Coast were given existing East Coast fleet numbers.

For example:

186 - Would fuel as 10195
187 - Would fuel as 10196
188 - Would fuel as 10197
189 - Would fuel as 10198
190 - Would fuel as 10199

441 - Would fuel as 20001
442 - Would fuel as 20002
443 - Would fuel as 20003
444 - Would fuel as 20004
445 - Would fuel as 20005
446 - Would fuel as 20006
447 - Would fuel as 20007
448 - Would fuel as 20008

Don't know what will have happened with 449 - 455, possibly duplicate use of 20001 - 20008.

Does anyone know when Lothian are going to allow leisure journeys again? I'm wanting to go hill walking which will involve a bus to Hunter's Tryst, and a bus from Torphin on the way back; at present I can't do this as Lothian are still saying essential journeys only.
