The one exercise per day caveat really gives huge leeway. Sunny weekend coming up, the parks will be full again I’d imagine...
Round the coast walk anyone? No time limit set (yet) either.

I do slightly wonder which police though?I imagine that the police will be allowed to use their reasonable judgement on that.
Will newsagents be open.
Probably not that important but I just thought about it because I was intending to go and pay my newspaper delivery bill before the end of the week. It’s not a large amount as my paper is pre paid with vouchers but the shop might appreciate it being paid at this difficult time.
This is perhaps not quite as severe as predicted, but perhaps longer at 3 weeks (i.e. until around 13th April)

As said, still woolly. One form of exercise per day, in the immediate vicinity of your home.If people do that, then we will be banned from going out at all.
Please don't.
I am self isolating until Thursday due to believing I had (a very mild form of) it. I would like to be able to go for a run then, locally, in an area where if I go in the evening I won't meet a single other person. Any mickey taking and I won't be able to![]()

Exactly. I work from home 95% of the time but I actually have some work I need to do in an office. It can't be done from home. It will have a noticeable impact on my team if the work isn't done but I am certainly not a keyworker. The statement is still woolly. Going to and from work where absolutely necessary when work can't be done from home. So say you are a gardener or cleaner. It is absolutely necessary to go to work to pay the mortgage and keep food on the table,
No mention of keyworkers whatsoever. Anyone not a keyworker shouldn't be going to work, full stop.
I felt that that wasn’t worded as clearly as it could be, but I’d say that a gardener like me (a decorator) is not a necessary essential worker, whereas a cleaner working in certain places definitely would be.The statement is still woolly. Austerity directly killed 45,000 people in two years alone and nobody gave the tiniest little stuff.
I swear the world's gone mad.

In certain parts of the country it's going to be impossible to enforce. In towns and cities where CCTV is operating, I'd imagine that the police will be directed to anyone who appears to be breaking the rules, but in rural places where you have two coppers to patrol a patch that's 18 miles across there's no chance.I do slightly wonder which police though?
They’re fairly thin on the ground around here these days...
Where's the facts and sources to back up that claim.
How did they reach the 120,000 figure?
The study’s authors estimated that there were nearly 45,000 more deaths in the years 2012 to 2014 than would have been predicted by earlier mortality trends.
They then extrapolated those figures to cover the period 2010 to 2017, which yields the estimated 120,000 “excess deaths.”
This pandemic isn't the world gone mad - it's real and it's probably going to get a lot worse in this coun
Fining people for going outside? Really? It's like we're now all living in East Germany or something.
50000 people may well die per month, but they are not infecting the population and grinding the NHS to halt in the process are they.
This virus is nasty in how it kills people- it is a particularly horrible form of pneumonia- and that has an impact on the healthcare system. But effectively bringing in martial law and bringing the economy to a grinding halt, destroying millions of lives, somehow seems a bit OTT.
