So, you're thinking of voting BNP because they're just misunderstood?

The BBC showed a longer version of this incident on TV, where the Asian guys have a heated exchange with Nick Griffin, and are heard quite clearly telling him to 'f*** off out of Barking'. This is only verbal, there is no physical contact.
Then they come across Bailey, and the spitting and scuffle ensue.

The first mention of the word racism was mentioned by Yorkie on the 6th post of this thread. Mention of racism/racist is then mentioned in 7th, 31st, 34th (indeed yours geezertronic), 54th (me). The only reason i mentioned the word was in reply to someone accusing me of being so post no 42.

As for taking the moral ground i dont think so i am just a humble proletariat peasant.

There is never an excuse for spitting, but then there is no excuse in what human beings do to other human beings far worse then spitting.

I think i should agree with Ladysdm when she said 'CASE CLOSED'.

Spitting IS vile.

Correct.

SO are the BNP.

Incorrect. They are true patriots who wish to make this country great again.

Two wrongs don't make a right!

Maybe, but it's a great leveller.

And there's a bit of a difference between John Prescott throwing a punch and his aides restrining him, and the BNP man throwing a punch and his aides joining in!

No difference at all in my book.
There is no worse assault on the person than spitting (apart from sexual of course) To have a complete strangers filthy, diseased bodily fluids is absolutely disgusting, so good on the BNP guy.
I remember when they were dishing out "Spit Kits" at work. The idea was so the offender could be identified from DNA. I declined and pointed out that there would be absolutely no problem identifying anyone who spat on me..... they would be the unconcious one minus their teeth.

As a footnote, i DID vote BNP, and will continue to do so as i agree with 99.9% of their policies. I don't give a damn who is running the country as long they put in place the policies needed to get things back on track, and the further left the Country goes, the further right it must go to redress the balance.

You are quite entitled to your opinion, and to vote for whoever you choose. Fortunately for the country as a whole, the BNP has little support in the grand scheme of things, although people may agree with some elements fo what they stand for, as was proved in the election!

Really? You sure about that? It's very unpleasant, yes. But worse than anything else? Being stabbed? Shot? Beaten up.

And one person has to be the first to not retaliate or we spend our lives retaliating. This is the kind of attitude that ends up with another Israel/Palestine. We have to forgive, if not forget.

I suppose Cameron in your eyes kneedown isn't right wing enough for you? But someone who denies the holocaust took place and who believed what Hitler did was ok to justify the means is right to run this country?

However i would like to know How the BNP were going to make this country great again and how are they the true patriots?

Yes I would like to hear a feasible argument on that note myself. True patriots? How so? I commend you on your honesty though, and for voting in the first place. Even for a fringe party.

I can't see how in any way the BNP are true patriots. They don't seem to realise that employers give jobs to the better person and it's luck if they will work for less. Putting British people first will do nothing to help our failing economy.

I'd like to find out more about the BNP definition of British, but without actually having to join them! How far back do they go to decide if someone is British? 1 year? 10, 100, 1000?

I seem to remember reading that it's not those who are British as such, but of the North European genetic type, therefore neatly encompassing the Celts, Angles, Saxons, Bretons and Scandinavians amongst others.

So French, German and Norwegian immigrants can come flooding in, but not Poles, Spanish or Italinas? How interesting!

Indeed. From their 'Mission Statement':
The British National Party exists to secure a future for the indigenous peoples of the British Isles that have been our homeland for thousands of years.

We use the term 'indigenous' to describe the people whose ancestors were the earliest settlers here after the last great Ice Age and which have been complemented by the historic migrations from mainland Europe.

The migrations of the Celts, Anglo-Saxons, Danes, Norse and closely related kindred peoples have been, over the past few thousand years, instrumental in defining the character of our family of nations.

I'd like to see their definition of 'closely related kindred peoples'. Could this include Poles, Spaniards and Italians I wonder?

Surely this can't be a thinly veneered form of racism, can it?!!!

You can call anything racist, it depends on how you interpret it. You could also interpret this comment as incest if you like :D

Read straight off the propaganda leaflet.

Well, firstly, I applaud your honesty. Unfortunately though, I find it rather embarrassing that anyone could vote be BNP. Frankly, it isn't a racism issue for me, people are free to be racist if they like, there's nothing that can be done to stop that.

My issue is that anyone could buy into the ridiculous, unworkable policies of the BNP. It's a total mystery to me how anyone could put their faith in a party which is made up of bitter, largely uneducated members, and is headed by an illiterate failure of a man who bears more resemblance to the hunchback of notre dame then any kind or leader of the master race. Griffin is not only stupid enough to believe that the holocaust didn't happen, but was also too ashamed to admit it when asked on Question Time, instead he said he couldn't say anything because the law forbids Holocaust denial, which it doesn't, and Jack Straw (Secretary of State for Justice at the time) even welcomed Nick to explain his beliefs, but Nick unfortunately declined...

Personally, I have more of a problem with my white working class 'brethren' then I do Muslims. I see more issues caused by chavs and smackheads then by anybody else, and this isn't because I live an area not 'inflicted' by Muslims; I live in Birmingham for gawds sake! Seeing as this kind of scum, who are coincidently white, are the core demographic of the BNP, I can't see how Britain could ever be a better place under their reign.

I got punched in the face last year, there was blood all over the place, but I was p*ssing myself laughing within about a minute

If you think being punched is funny, I know a few people that will have you in stitches then!

Being shot or stabbed is more than assault. As regards being beaten up, yes i would say that being spat on is worse. And before you say anything, yes i have been stabbed before.

Cameron isn't isn't right wing at all. Griffin has indeed questioned in the past whether the holocaust occured. Was it just youthful foolishness? Does he truly believe that? Who knows, i personally don't care. If thats his opinion then fair enough, is doesn't mean he couldn't run a country. What about all the left wing apologists, who's opinions are indulged by the media, who conveniently forget about Stalin, who was responsible for millions more deaths, Jews included, than Hitler ever was.

I refer you to the BNP manifesto for an answer to your last point.

Many people have their own ideas as to what makes people British, however, whichever way you slice it, you cannot say that the massive influx since 97 are British.

Has their really been a "massive influx"?
There were only 0.54 asylum applicants per 1,000 members of the UK population in 2008/09.
We refuse about 500,000 visa applications every year. Migrant fees from visas that are issued contribute £300 million to the UK.
Figures from the Office for National Statistics show that net migration fell from 209,000 in 2007 to 118,000 in 2008.

Nope, sorry. My own opinion.

Unfortunately though, I find it rather embarrassing that anyone could vote be BNP.

I find it embarrassing that after 13years of lies, deception and weakness by Labour, that have left us bankrupt, anyone could still vote for them! The vision of a flock of sheep comes to mind.

My issue is that anyone could buy into the ridiculous, unworkable policies of the BNP. It's a total mystery to me how anyone could put their faith in a party which is made up of bitter, largely uneducated members, and is headed by an illiterate failure of a man who bears more resemblance to the hunchback of notre dame then any kind or leader of the master race..

So why are the policies ridiculous and workable then?

Can you substantiate your point that the membership is largely uneducated, although they can be forgiven for being bitter at mainstream politics.

Resemblance to the hunchback? Can you not counter a point with hard fact instead of resorting to negative comments on Nick Griffin's looks?

Personally, I have more of a problem with my white working class 'brethren' then I do Muslims. I see more issues caused by chavs and smackheads then by anybody else, and this isn't because I live an area not 'inflicted' by Muslims; I live in Birmingham for gawds sake! The "Scum" are certainly not the core demographic of the BNP, they wouldn't even be able to find their way to the polling station let alone know how to put an x in the box! Have you noticed how many of these people seem to take their lead from the worst aspects of immigrant culture "innit, ya kna what a mean?"
The BNP would get them into work, and if they wouldn't work they wouldn't get any money.

Yes there has. You can quote whatever statistics you like (quoted from an anti BNP source and therfore hardly impartial) The simple fact is, Britain has changed. No one who opens their eyes can deny that. Look at the increased pressures on the NHS and other services, you can encounter many different languages just walking around town nowadays. You only have to go to France to see the masses queing up, awaiting their chance to get to the land of milk and honey!
We are a small island and we are full up.

Reminds me of 1920\30s Germany. High unemployment, country very short of money. Along comes a leader - "Yeah, I can get you all jobs" "Vote for me".

And then look what happened. Though Nick Griffin doesn't believe that bit.

Just because the figures are taken from an anti BNP website, doesn;t mean that the figures themselves are invalid, or incorrect. Just like stating that facts on the BNP are false just because of where they are!

Kneedown are saying that anyone who was in the UK before 1997 is now British? Or have you just taken that date because it was when the last government came to power?

As I said earlier, some elements of the BNP policies (such as they are) do appeal to quite a few people. They are designed to appeal to patriotism, tribalism and the deep seated fears that many people hold about been 'invaded', which are pretty natural fears to have when you consider the history of the UK, after all we are an island nation! Yet the BNP are a nasty bunch who thrive on conflict, confrontation and go out of their way to look for trouble under the guise of free speech and censorship. I am firmly of the opinion that we should let them be heard, as only then will they show their true colours, just like Nick Griffin's very poor display on Question Time, wher ehe made Bob Crow on Have I Got News For You look like Albert Einstein!

I really do think the Lunatics have taken over the Asylum, after what i have just read. Let me not live in a country run by Kneedown and his ilk, it would be far worse then it would have been under Hitler or Stalin.

Indeed. we've come too far and through too much as a nation to regress to politics of lowest common denominator.
