No ticket acceptance with other operators when things go wrong [GC]

At the risk of further derailing the thread, Ryanair are legally obliged under EU law to rebook passengers at their expense on other carriers if they cannot themselves get the passengers to their destinations in a reasonable time.

A similar right does not arise for domestic train journeys. (I have not checked if one arises on CIV journeys.)

I am not privy to what contracts have or have not been signed by Grand Central or any other TOCs I’m afraid.

Have any of GC’s passengers been unable to complete their journey?
I think we are saying the same thing. LNER does not have to carry GC passengers if one train is cancelled, but it would if all the remaining GC trains of the day were.
