May be wrong but I too have 050 as still at Gascoign wood. Prob 052 at scrap.Don't you mean 142050?
No, this is the formation they came from Heaton in and this is the formation they left Worksop inDon't you mean 142050?
My best guess is no, because it’s northernDoes anyone know if Northern are doing a pacer farewell tour? If so does anyone know any details? Thanks!
Interesting. Presumably they want the other half.Half of 142029 (55570) is now reported on WNXX as being at the Chasewater Railway
I don't know what WNXX stands for or means, but it's another online railway forum that has existed since before RailUK, apparently. You have to be a member to see threads / posts, and registering is free but you have to wait to be "approved"). Also, threads seem to be locked after not very long from what I saw. If I understand rightly, it also has some sort of publication which I believe requires a (paid...?) subscription.Interesting. Presumably they want the other half.
What's WNXX, can I access it?

Hopefully I'm not going too far off topic to answer this, but in a roundabout sort of way it is linked so here goes...I don't know what WNXX stands for or means...
Seems like a possible answer however WNXX is a website http://www.wnxx.com/Hopefully I'm not going too far off topic to answer this, but in a roundabout sort of way it is linked so here goes...
Once upon a time locomotives (and I imagine all rolling stock) were allocated into 'pools', which to make things easier for paperwork, TOPS and the like had codes. Perhaps HNTP for Heaton TransPennine, HNNE for Heaton North East (not necessarily accurate, just to get the idea)
In time when locos etc are ready for withdrawal, I seem to remember pool codes like WNXX, WNYX and WNZX are used. Something along the lines of 'Withdrawn stored serviceable', 'Withdrawn stored unserviceable', and 'Withdrawn for disposal', though not necessarily in that order.
So it would appear, the founders of said forum perhaps took one of those pool codes as their name perhaps.
Doesn't look like it, they're being sent for disposal and storage thick and fast. Its probably safe to assume the TfW one a little while ago is probably all we get.Does anyone know if Northern are doing a pacer farewell tour? If so does anyone know any details? Thanks!

According to someone who looks to be involved and is posting to the Pacer group on FB, the other half will be arriving soon.Interesting. Presumably they want the other half.

in theory they would, but it's possible they don't intend to run it, instead keeping it as an exhibit or a museum piece, that sort of thing.Interesting. Presumably they want the other half.

Yes Pacers can be moved around by locos using the coupling adaptor.
Or South Yorkshire, as that's where the 144s will be kept into the New Year, and beyond. Thanks for that.
Dont think I've ever seen a Pacer totally fail to warrant the rescue by a locomotive.
I suppose there would be no need really as another unit can come to its aid if need be.
Shocked to see,according to
Northern Spirits fleet list status how quickly these have been retired.
Looks like Cardiff could be the last haven for Pacer fans alike.
Only at 5mph with no brake continuity, brakes would need to be isolated on the Pacer.Yes Pacers can be moved around by locos using the coupling adaptor.
You obviously haven’t been to Leeds in the last week. Loads of 144 operated services about still.Or South Yorkshire, as that's where the 144s will be kept into the New Year, and beyond.
One of the 5 still in almost original condition along with 003, 013, 030 & 067. These weren’t touched by FNW as they were meant to be the ones coming off lease when the Oldham loop closed.Half of 142029 (55570) is now reported on WNXX as being at the Chasewater Railway
Yes, I didn't deny that. You obviously haven’t been to Leeds in the last week. Loads of 144 operated services about still.

I meant the seating layout, no luggage racks fitted etc... Paint and flooring is window dressing that can be reversed. Not anymore as it had the flooring replaced along with the side panals as they were a blue colour and not Northerns purple colour.
Northern have said that the hope valley line will be the last place for pacers (in February)Or South Yorkshire, as that's where the 144s will be kept into the New Year, and beyond.
