Anywhere that I can take a Psychometric test ?

Same here mate. Railway is a small world and something like that in our industry would almost send shockwaves through most TOCs.

Your eyes may not deceive but the rest of you may quite easily not be in full possession of the facts. I've been on the railway nearly 15 years and I've never known anyone from any grade be sent back to retake psychometric assessments let alone those fully trained, Competent and out of probationary periods.

Plenty taken off for failing rules but even then they're just sent away to revise. But psychometric testing? Nah.

SWR’s depot drivers have retake their psychometric tests every three years (which is the same assessments as for mainline as they’re a driver grade). I didn’t know this until recently when a friend of mine had to retake his. Strikes me as very strange because the purpose of these tests is to assess ones trainability and suitability for the role. How can you employ somebody as a driver, have them in post for 3-years and then potentially tell them they’re not suitable to drive trains, even on a depot? And the trump card was when they said that even if he failed, he’d not be out of a job? Bizarre.

Bloody hell I'm surprised the unions allowed that major condition to be brought in. Does seem bizarre especially even if you fail all is good. Maybe with them it's because they have a possible line of promotion to mainline driver and as they're only taught a fraction of the rulebook they have to retake their assessments to ensure they're ready for when mainline vacancies arise?

God knows I could be wrong but that seems one of the only plausible reason for having to constantly retake them.
