150273 failed today on its return from overhaul at Kilmarnock, it failed at Mauchline about 10 miles from Kilmarnock. It has since returned back to the works.

Came across this mess on a newly refurbished 150 the other day.
Doesn't FCC's end of contract predate these displays anyway?
Whoops!

Funnily enough I encountered my first example of Northern PIS on old stock on Saturday and it was working fine despite being a 150 in multiple with a 142 (which I'd have thought might "confuse" the PIS software or something).

Talking of PIS: came across a 333 showing “Krikstall Forge” a couple of weeks ago; presumably they all like that?

Just sums up Northern’s standards.

Talking about CIS curiosities, some units and stations have a station displayed as Manchester Picc, pronounced as Manchester Pick by the automated pronunciation machine.

I suspect the system might have been borrowed off a stored 319? They were fitted with it before they left Thameslink, not that I ever saw one work...

Noted 156485 in the old scot rail livery at Newton Heath keeping the pacers company.
Is this another acquisition to plug the pacer demise?
Yes, but it's been around quite a while now. I can't remember exactly when I travelled on it but I'm sure it was before Easter.

It has a door missing at the Rochdale end. It’s all covered with a tarpaulin.

I got to sample a refurbished 2-car 158 this morning on the 09.17 Leeds - Carlisle. Wifi working, USB sockets at every seat. But rock-hard seats! Anyone taking it throughout to Carlisle would have seriously numb buttocks by the time they arrived.

Apperantly the seats on the class 700s are harder than the ones on the refurbished 158s
