Are you talking about the Thameslink depot at Peterborough per chance?

If you are then it does see a lot of use overnight,

Nope, I'm talking about the depot/car park area just to the north of Mayor's Walk bridge (behind the Esso).

I believe that’s still in use by DB Schenker though and building platforms for a short period isn’t productive.

Far better to use Nene Sidings for stabling of rolling stock between workings as it doesn’t lose you a platform.

Just means people get off the train, train goes into the yard with cleaners onboard to clean and also to tank the train if needed then train arrives in platform a few minutes (say 15 mins) prior to departure then heads back north.

Give it about 30 mins in the yard which is plenty of time to do any cleaning/tanking needed.

Especially as the infrastructure is already there so you just need to find the paths to and from the yard which hopefully shouldn’t be too difficult...

Also far cheaper then building platforms as you would have extra costs such as step free access in the form of lifts etc all which makes the proposal a non starter!
