Again we had difficulty in establishing what you say above and only found the following information about one particular station site:-
Pontypool Road was opened in 1852
It was renamed Pontypool in 1972
It was again renamed Pontypool and New Inn in 1994.
The goods station handling facilities were relocated in the 1909/1910 period.
Remember that Pontypool had a number of railway stations owned by differing railway companies.
I'll PM you the map evidence when I get time - it's very clear.

Tylacoch Platform
Treorchy (1st station - 1869 to 1884)
Sorry to have to inform you that the now-open station of Ynyswen was built on the site of Tylacoch Platform.
If you look at Rule 4, you will see Ynyswen shown as one of the examples.
