Tamworth High level is a reporting point, not the station name, unlike for example Heath High Level or Tyndrum Lower. The station is just Tamworth. Ferret, I know it's below you Voyager lot (childish snigger) but you forgot Wilnecote.

^ - Wouldn't that be part of Birmingham's NET system, probabally served by Lichfield/Tamworth services? :?

I'm gonna split a few hairs here, but what about Reading, platform VI? 8)

No...Lichfield services don't serve Water Orton and there aren't any trains which terminate at Tamworth.

AFAIK Water Orton is indeed only served by CrossCountry

Ermmm. Am I missing something with that answer? Do you seriously think CrossCountry are the only operator to serve those stations, or is it too early for me?

Only FGW use Reading platform 6. :p
Sure ye aren't getting mixed up with platform 8 there, Celia? ;)

From what I remember, the only FGW services that terminate at Reading are the Basingstoke shuttle (Which terminates at plats. 1-3), the North Downs runs through Guildford (Which use 4A, 4B, and - Very rarely - 4), and the London stoppers which use platform 7.
Platform 6 is the bay platform at the West end of the station between 5 and 8, which I've only ever seen being used by AXC services to/from Brum and Newcastle...The only non-AXC thing I've ever seen there was a parked up 66. :)

On the other hand though, it's possible that I might've got platforms 6 and 7 mixed up...:lol::D

Yes, you have.

Platform 6 is an east-facing bay used by stopping services to London Paddington, it is also used by the 06:06 Reading - Shalford. Virtually all other North Downs services use Platform 4A/B, although there a few booked to use Platform 5 in the morning, and Platform 4/8 in the evening.

Platform 7 is a west-facing bay used by the hourly CrossCountry service to Newcastle. I don't believe anything else is booked to use this platform.

AFAIK Virgin were still allowed to keep hold of those handy little odds and ends, although XC were trying their hardest to twist the Governments arm left, right and centre over it. :)

To be honest...I'm just looking forward to the day that Virgin decide to audit their bank statements, and start to ask themselves why they're footing the bill for another TOCs rolling stock. Should be some interesting bartering going on in ATOCs offices when that comes to light...;)

Anyhow - Back on topic: What about Bangor (Gwynedd)? From what I recall, XC services are always scheduled to call there, whereas ATW services AFAIK only stop on request. The latter not counting Bangor as a "proper" stop, I would class as grounds for considering Bangor an XC-only station! 8)
