Hoping that it might be of interest to fellow participants, I have begun compiling an infographic map that displays the frequency of moves made in the game to prominent towns and cities (only in the present thread rather than the pre-April 2014 version). Darker and denser colour on the 'blobs' on the map indicates more heavily-visited locations.

For London, I've gone for all the areas within the M25 that chucked up 'London' on the forum search function; this isn't a perfect science, and moves to, for example, Watford Junction or Ilford, might not be shown; but all moves tagged with Transport for London will be included. London's the only city that we have visited enough times for the search function to reach its limit of 1,000 - it goes back to 2016, and we may well be closer to 2,000 London-based moves in reality. Manchester's next with over 900 moves being made to it or its stations; Bristol, with over 540 moves, is the only other place with above 500 moves to it so far (including moves to Bristol Parkway station).

Stoke and Hanley, combined together, could not break the 50-move mark; neither could Doncaster, Dundee or Lincoln. Two popular locations, Blackpool and Brighton, are absent here because the local operators are named after these settlements; and these operators run services to towns further afield, such as Fleetwood, Tunbridge Wells and Hove, so I'd have to rake through masses of search results to find an accurate number.

Bristol did used to be a popular one as it's a fairly large area, but I've found of late we end up in either London (understandable for the capital), Manchester or Scotland.

For me, the purpose of this game I believe is to keep moving, and by being in major cities it's easier to keep moving as there are plenty of onward connections available.

No, Kemp Town is a little further north. Hence why I only listed Arundel Terrace as just being in Brighton. The locations of stops on sites such as Traveline are really inaccurate as I think they are calculated online. I've regularly found that some stops could be listed in suburb A, and then the next stop along is in Suburb B, even though the boundary is nowhere near the two.

Interesting, thanks! I like how Inverness gets a blob and yet Hull doesn't...and Cardiff is unsurprisingly big too (whenever we go there we never seem to be able to leave!)
