Can you save as PDF from pages? I sent mine as pdf's...

I saved it as a word doc now so worked fine, but too late to edit application! So I thought if I withdraw app then I can re-apply, however when you withdraw app it doesn't give you the option to re-apply! so I ended up withdrawing from both positions, setting up a new job profile and applying again with correctly formatted documents - story of my life, never easy haha! right I'm logging off and going to enjoy the Boxing Day sports, have a good one!

I did the same with my covering letter, but as I've had an application in for Buxton since November I can't delete it and start again. Hopefully it won't make a difference I've just named it as covering letter.

What did you put for salary expectation?

I assumed this bit was more for the peofile than the application so just left it blank! Hope that doesnt hinder me, but there was no salary given on the job spec, so other than "one million dollars" i wasn't sure what to put.

Email update

Dear XXX

Thank you for applying for the Train Driver Manchester Victoria position.

Due to a high volume of applicants, please allow our team 2 weeks to process and review all of the applications.

We apologise for the length of time this is taking and would like to thank you for your patience whilst your application is being processed.

Kind regards

So that’s nice I guess (“,)

Hi guys new to this forum,
I’ve applied for the Blackpool and Manchester roles (live in the middle of both so either would suit) this is my first time applying for a trainee driver role, does anyone have any links or info for me to read through on what kind of things they look for during interview or what the tests involve (if I’m lucky enough to make it that far!)?
Cheers

There is all the info for the tests and interviews on the forums on here. You just have to search and you will find enough information to prepare yourself for the process.

I've applied for the Sheffield one. I've not heard owt yet. Has anyone else?

I'm waiting for word about another position. I was told 2 weeks back at the start of December. I wouldn't be expecting any word from them until some time next week.

Hi guys.

I'm new to the site. I've recently applied for train driver roles at Manchester Victoria and piccadilly. I've not had any emails since applying but on my profile it shows that they have received my application for both jobs. Should I have heard anything by now? Only email I had was one asking me to complete my application for Victoria which I have done. Apart from that I haven't had any other emails. Is this normal?

I applied for Buxton in November and Manchester in December. I've not heard anything either. It just says application in process on the DB site.

Looks like I will just have to have some patience. Does everyone get sent the visual comparison test if they have applied?

I’ve also not had anything apart from two “give us a couple of weeks” type emails...

I've had the same emails for both Piccadilly and Victoria driver roles. I fully expect it to be longer than the two weeks the mentioned to me.

Am i missing something?? when completing the db application for northern it seems to skip from part 3 to part 5 missing out work questions?? also the qualifications bit seems very confusing, is it really requiring a separate entry per GCSE etc...with dates for each which doesn't seem to be linked to the school/institution..also this is all on the cv that will be attached?

Just had the email from Northern to say please allow 2 weeks to process and review, did fear the worst at first as I seen the wors 'due to a high volume of applicants' and was expecting to see the word unfortunately on the next line!

This was for the Manchester position - so still in with a shout!

I applied for both Manchester stations and haven't heard anything. On my account it just says application received on both.

I applied on boxing day, so they probably still working round, it only says to allow them more time though so not like it's a progression of any kind so I wouldn't worry even if you didn't get one, main thing is it still says application in progress on the job portal

Application received on the ones I applied to. I’m sure that the closing date was 11th January.

The application period seemed to be open for a substantial period of time so I imagine it’ll take them a fair while to do a sift of the applications
