This was supposed to have happened age's ago, nice to see its at long last.
Well, Lincolnshire RoadCar simplified the Scunthorpe town bus route numbers with 1, 2, 3 etc back in I think 2005, then two years after Stagecoach took over, they 'relaunched' network but for some strange reason with higher up numbers apart from the number 6.

Its a shame they have not killed off the 12..
What's wrong with the 12?

My biggest gripe with this simplification is that the times for what is currently the 31a/31a and will both become 1a seem more complicated. The 31a and 32a are every half past the hour from the bus station but will end up becoming every 10 past the hour. The only good thing about it all is that the last ones arrive at the bus station just after midnight whereas currently with the 31a and 32a, this only happens on Friday and Saturday nights.

If Stagecoach took over the route I would be very surprised if it would be kept. Ie operate 2/3 via Cemetery Road on the eastern side of the route, extend the 1 to the Asda TC. I would go a bit further with the changes including revised the 4.

There did uses to be a 1 that extended to Asda in the RoadCar days.

That going back many moons now! 80s?
I remember walking up Scotter Road just opposite Asda and seeing a bus stop and a timetable which surprised me, as none of the current map leaflets show a single route serving that part of Scotter Road.

The timetable said it was effective from April 2006 and mentioned a single route numbered 1.

Your just rejig my memory! I think it spring 2005? the new network come in.

1: every 15mins Town Central - Westcliff, doing a loop down Scotter road and back up the other side.
2/3 every 30mins but give Quebec road a bus every 15mins
5: was every 20mins Via Lilaa Ave - Ashby did all of Timberlands, Via Valley view drive...

The current 31 pretty much grabbed all the passengers on most of the routes...

Too bad in 2005 I didn't pay much attention to the routes.

At least with the current 31 and soon to be 1, it serves Tesco too.

I'm surprised the number 6 has remained pretty much as it has been after so much time and never really cute back.

It's been a while It seem Lincoln has had another minor revamp which has seen a NEW X6 from birchwood to the Hospital, while the 3s now go via monk Road. It would seem some good ideas are coming out of this covid.

Do believe that one was planned before COVID struck!
