Has anyone had experience with their delay repay, leading onto a journey that's not on their line?

I was travelling from Oxenholme to York yesterday, but ended up missing my connection at Carlisle, leaving me 62 minutes late.

I tried to enter that into the delay repay form, but it kept trying to palm me off to LNER as York is on the ECML obviously. So the question is, has anyone experienced with this, and were the complaints team apt enough to get the delay repay calculation right?

I successfully claimed delay repay from VTWC a couple of months back. Had a London Terminals - East Kilbride Off Peak Return, the VTWC service into Glasgow Central was 19 minutes late causing me to miss the connection to East Kilbride which resulted in an overall delay of an hour.

Submittedbthe claim to VTWC, entered Euston to Glasgow as details of the service and ticked the missed connection box. Obviously uploaded an image of my ticket to East Kilbride as part of the claim.

They paid out without an issue.

Sounds promising! Thank you

I have similar issues with a connection at Stockport and never had any problems at all - the train only has to be 10 mins late for the connection to be missed.

I have also had claims with Virgin West Coast for missed connections across London accepted without question.

What exactly was your journey and did you specifically state this in your email to them?

Its important as they may have entered the wrong times into their system
