We walk the 10 minutes (0.4 miles) to Mill Lane and get the 00:21 Lothian Busses service 21 to Portobello (Wakefield Avenue), arriving at 00:33 Thursday morning.

We walk the few minutes to the Kings Road bus stop, where we board the 01:22 Lothian Buses route N26 to Edinburgh, Princes Street/Scott Monument, arriving there at 01:35 on a Thursday.

We walk to Edinburgh wait for the Highland Sleeper to come in, and then almost an hour later, the 04:50 Caledonian Sleeper service 1Y11, the only one we could get, pulls out with us on board, and we get off at Corrour at 08:58 on Thursday morning, not much going on here.

We walk to the ferry terminal and get the 14:15 Western Isles Cruises service F7 through Inverie, which we visited the only time we've been on this ferry, and which is very remote, and disembarking at Tarbert, arriving 15:30 Thursday afternoon.

That is right, the Tarbert @DanTrainMan185 has based that on is on the Isle of Harris, rather than on the mainland not from Loch Morar (that appears to be the only feature nearby)

We stay for 24 hours and board the 15:30 Western Isles Cruises route F7 service to Inverie (Ferry Landing), arriving there at 16:15 on a Friday.

We then get the 16:30 Western Isles Cruises service F7 to Mallaig, arriving at 17:00 Friday afternoon.

Strangely, this service is separate and leaves 15 minutes later but still gets to Mallaig at the same time as the service from Tarbert
