Rather unusually, and something that I wasn't aware of, the N1 only operates in that direction, so we have no option to wait for the 0526 Brighton and Hove service 6 to Brighton (Clarence Square), arriving there at 0548 on Wednesday morning.

Holding this a second.
Clarence Square is well over half a mile/15 minutes walk. I'm a brisk walker and it takes me 20 minutes, and that's pacing it.
Edit: Google Maps confirms a 0.6 mile/11 minute walk, although 11 minutes is highly optimistic!
