There will be some re-modelling because the platforms and trackwork are moving, but I don't know whether complete replacement is necessary.Obviously the new platforms have new overhead wiring equipment. Will the old be replaced on the other platforms during the June and July closure?
I believe it is 1 and 2 old numbers, using the same arrangements as last October with single line working on the Up Slow.Platforms 1 and 2 re open on Monday for five weeks
Is that current platforms 1 and 2? As I know platform 1 current is to close
Or is it platform current 2 and 3 re opening as platform new 1 and 2

Do you mean when it re-opens tomorrow, or 30 July? When it re-opens, it appears that both slow lines will be bi-directional upto the new ladder junction that's been put in halfway through the cutting.
No. Future platform 1 (current platform 2) will be the only track that goes through it.Does the single bore tunnel (Russel Street?) go out of use when platform one closes too?
Ahh excellent, it seemed strange to lose it when the whole process is to aid capacity thanks for that! Is there a link to final layout of the station? Sorry I know it is probably buried in the last 20 pages somewhere!
My understanding is that that the signal at the Runcorn end of platform 4is only there to allow trains to access the Freightliner depot. To depart towards Runcorn you would need to have bi-directional running as far as Speke Junction.Question re Liverpool South Parkway - Platform 4 - as this is being used to terminate the Virgin Euston Service - which exits out the Liverpool end of the platform and returns to London via Platform 3 - what is the purpose of the signal at the london end of the platform - and why cant the Euston train exit in the 'usual' direction'?
Was there on Sunday - Very busy - but hats off to the station staff for avoiding chaos and making the temp arrangements work very well - didnt realise on a sunday that the 15 minute Northern Line Service - of the 4 departures an hour 2 run fast to Liverpool Central then on to Kirkby - so a very quick transfer into the city
Good effort really!
The extended platform 2 (old number) means that platform 1 would only have room for four cars or so.To add just one platform overall seems an awful lot of work just for that. It is madness to get rid of old platform one when even more services could use lime st with it there. Is the removal of one to accommodate new retail facilities there?
