Travelled on WSMR yesterday Shrewsbury-London-Shrewsbury... the 08:07 from Shrewsbury was packed (people without reservations standing between Telford and Tame Bridge!) and the evening train back from Marylebone was about 2/3rds full. So it is a popular service!
Any chance of having longer trains? There does, for starters, seem to be a need for more seats on the Saturday 08:07 service!
It is impracticable to add one coach to one service due to stock diagrams, it is all trains or none. It is quite a logistical nightmare to add one coach for one train at short notice. If all the trains had extra coaches the benefit would not be practicable as the track access charges would be higher so therefore the business case for the extra coach would not be profitable. If the trains are contantly full and people are not getting a seat I would imagine 4 coaches would then become the norm.
