We decide to stay the night in Holyhead, so we catch the 0038 Arriva Trains Wales service 1D33 to Holyhead, arriving at 0215 Monday morning.
We should really get some sleep now, so we pitch our tent. In the morning, we walk back to the railway station and board the 05:14 Arriva Trains Wales rail service towards Manchester Piccadilly. We then find the guard, and request the train stop at Conwy, where we disembark at 06:01 on Monday morning.

We then board the 0819 Arriva Trains Wales service 1K31 to Crewe, arriving there at 0937 on Monday morning

Penrith's not in Scotland! Do you have an irrational fear of the north or something? ;)

Heading north, we board the 16:43 Virgin Trains rail service to Penrith North Lakes, arriving there at 20:44 on Monday evening.

Why Penrith? When we have just come from there?
Well I hardly agree with the notion that we can't head to the north because you're worried that we'll end up in rural Scotland! That's no reason to avoid the north.

Give it a chance, all right? There is a good bus network up here.

This is where we should continue from.

I don't need a reminder of where Penrith is thank you; I do have a First in Geography from the University of the West of England.... ;)

I love the north, so much so that I've just applied for a role with TPE in Manchester.

And equally there's plenty to see down south!

We then get the 2140 Virgin Trains service to Oxenholme Lake District, arriving at 2203 on Monday evening

We then board the 2211 TransPennine Express service 1M95 to Manchester Piccadilly, arriving there at 2323 on Monday evening.
