I spoke to Marie yesterday. They’re taking on 4 for Nottingham and 4 for Derby for the July course.
The medical will happen soon, then the references will get requested after that is successfully passed.
I needed to request not to be put on the July course so spoke to her directly to make sure it was ok- it was!

Let’s hope you hear soon Jimmy about your start date.

Got my fingers crossed for a phone call today, seeing as I’ve got the day off! :lol:

Will be great to see everyone waiting on this thread get on the July course if possible. :D

I would consider getting a July start as a massive bonus so I expect to be on the October one or the one after July anyways. Something to look forward to.

I’ll need even longer- my notice period is 8 weeks- ridiculously long! Hope it’s not going to make me less attractive an option to use.....

So I emailed Marie and got an automated "I am not in the office till 2/5/18" response so looks like things will cool down for a few days.

Well, the call will happen when it happens. I’m off work next week too, so no chance I’d miss it if I got one next week. :lol:

I think it’s time to relax and stop thinking about it for a bit. (I’m telling myself that too ;))

I have it on good authority that July course places could be allocated by the end of the week so stay by your phones people :)

There's another depot to mainline course scheduled for October too so if not July there will still be yet more spaces on the shed links at Derby and Notts for a further course if they squeeze one in later in the year too, so if u don't get the call for July, you should not be waiting too long.

I got my email this morning saying that I have made it through the first sift. Has anyone been through the testing process before who can give me some pointers to what I need to revise and practice.

Hi there James stallard and welcome to the forum!!!

Congratulations on getting shortlisted! Am I right in thinking that you have applied for the 'Trainee Service Driver' role for Leeds Neville Hill Depot? If so, there is a thread specifically for that role here, as this thread relates to the recent Depot Driver recruitment drive for Nottingham and Derby's Talent Pools.

However, as it seems the roles may be similar, have a read through this thread too, as it will no doubt be of massive use to you as you prepare for the assessments!
Also of use to you will be the 'Becoming a Train Driver' and 'Group Bourdon Tool' threads at the top of the forum. You will also shortly receive Practice Materials for the assessments from EMT themselves, to help you prepare for your tests.
