We then board the 2143 Caledonian Sleeper service 1B16 to London Euston, arriving there at 0901 on Monday morning.
Next, we board the 21:07 ScotRail train service to Tain, arriving there at 22:17 on Monday evening.
Remember that we can't get the first train back to Inverness, because there is only a four-minute turnaround before departure. Looks like it's the Royal Hotel overnight for us!
Next, we board the 10:43 Virgin Trains West Coast rail service to Edinburgh Waverley, arriving there at 16:22 on Monday afternoon.
Why ?Surprise surprise![]()
Was that supposed to be a move?I dispute the suggestion that 22:17 to 22:21 is somehow five minutes, but let's be honest - it's not going to take us four whole minutes to get across the footbridge (I'm not even sure that we have to!) So, at Dingwall, we call it a night.

Move's now been added. Was that supposed to be a move?

In the morning, we walk from our accommodation at the Royal Hotel to the bus stop just outside it, and board the 05:52 Stagecoach in the Highlands route 27 bus service to Conon Bridge (War Memorial), arriving there at 05:58 on Tuesday morning.
Why ?
In circumstances like this, where it’s physically the same train (forming different service), it’s absolutely fine. Just try not to just loop between A-B-A-B… etcI did hear on the forum that in circumstances like this where it's the return train, we can use it? Even if under five minutes?
Next, we board the 18:12 ScotRail train service to Inverurie, arriving there at 19:41 on Tuesday evening. We then catch the 17:09 1B43 Scotrail service to Montrose arriving at 17:50 on a Tuesday evening.
Allowing for the overnight rule, we then board the 0930 National Express service 590 to Milton Keynes (Coachway), arriving there at 1955 on Wednesday evening.
There would certainly be earlier services than that! And you have to use the first one you can get after 05:00 as stated in the rules.QUERY RAISED
Is the 0930 service above the first available service allowing for the overnight travel relaxation rule from Perth bus station on a Wednesday or were there other services available to use prior to that one shown above?
Catching a service at 09:30 certainly does not sound like "waiting until 05:00". So we must return to Perth. @DanTrainMan185Night services in the UK can be quite limited, so when the previous move arrives at its destination after 2300 you are allowed to wait until 0500 the next day if you wish.
