The 99 operates from just over a mile away from the station, into the centre of Macclesfield, same with the 38 (Crewe-Congleton-Macclesfield)I've noticed on the Northern website they currently suggest the 99 bus to Macclesfield is an alternative, despite the fact the 99 is operated by D&G when there's an alternative Arriva service and Arriva buses are supposed to be accepting rail tickets.
The 99 also takes over 30 minutes (Around 40 I believe), So northern expect people to walk ~1.5 miles then get a slow bus when there are trains of the same parent company that speed through non-stop.
