Does it say the word trainee anywhere in the advert?Just because it does not say Trainee in the title does not mean they have not stated if it is a trainee position or not.
I appreciate that Driver9000...i am in no way dishonest and have maybe come across the wrong way. The prescreen questions ask if you live within 45 min commutable distance. If I say no because of my address in Wales am I likely to be told that I cannot apply or be disregarded in favour of nearer applicants? I do not wish to be dishonest, but if I can advantage myself by using my address in Manchester...would that not take a precedence over applicants who live further away? I am just trying to do the best thing for my application and give myself the best chance...no dishonesty intended.

Hi,
I know you can’t have two live applications at once and I applied to Wigan start of September, but with not getting any response from my wigan application what so ever a YES or a NO in the last 3.5 months other than a generic email regarding sifting through applications and business needs when I contacted them. Also reading other posts on here regarding the positions being already filled. I’m assuming I now don’t have a live application? So can I apply for Manchester before the deadline?
Thanks
Jon

When it says closing date of 18/12/17 what does it mean ?
ThanksThat it will no longer accept applications after 2359 on the 18/12/2017

Hi guys...pre screen questions ask if you live within 45min commutable distance from home address? I currently live in Wales but have family in Manchester where I could live so to speak. Would it matter if I said yes or no to the distance? Just don't want to be disregarded for saying the wrong thing. What do you all think?
I appreciate your comments...but I phoned Northern and spoke to their HR department. They confirmed to me they would not consider an application from someone living elsewhere even if they were prepared to relocate. The reason they gave for this is because they have had people promise this in the past, but then not fulfill their promise. They told me they will only accept local applicants. You couldn't realistically do the job and lie about where you live. The training would be too much as it is long hours with loads of homework/revision.
I applied for Northern and TPE and told them I was planning on relocating from London. Both offered a job and both had no problems with my plans to relocate to the NW if I was offered the position.
