seen this come out of there last week top and tailed by 66076 and 66101 for some reason

Casual observations (so highly likely to be wrong!) suggest the same loco stays on for a fair few days at a time usually. The same curse strikes the Trafford Park-Felixstowe flow and I end up watching the same 66 trundled through Deansgate everyday for what seems like an eternity.

Does happen - I'm sure with all the FOCs, but GBRf are quite good at it. If there's nothing wrong with the loco and doesn't need an exam etc, there's certain circuits they can keep one loco on for an extended period - keeps things simple and the drivers get to know the locos too which helps identify little issues with them. For example 92028 has been on the 6X41/6L48 flow for five weeks now... I'm still not bored of it though
GB also tend to use the same 66 on Redcar-Fiddlers Ferry for a whole week (e.g. retro 66701 this week) and the same set of locos on the Liverpool-Drax Biomass flows etc...

If it was sat just as you leave KGX it'd been one of the Class 67 Thunderbirds - 67028 and 67010 (both red) were moving Class 91s about today - not sure if it was either of those, or one of the other ones. What livery was it?

Would've been 59101 on 7A09 07:12 Merehead Quarry to Acton Terminal Complex - went through Slough bang on 11:10.

There's only four Hanson liveried locos - all Class 59/1s - 59101/02/03/04.

I live on the line - you'll be fine! There may be a 153 too, but that's unlikely at this time of the year. There should be both 66080 and 66160 at New Biggin British Gypsum as you pass - on the right hand side less than 10 minutes before Appleby (be looking from 09:55). Otherwise, just enjoy the scenery.

I can't see where he asked for a number, just the headcode?
