Should kids talk to teachers like this?

Well, as I say. If so many of you are against it, I suggest you speak to your MPs... a 10 minute post which already has 26? in my screenshot, but is already at 35 by the time I’d finished scribbling things out...

Real life isn't fair.
People (and that includes teachers) need to change "real life" for the better. There is no way that my children would have used such disgusting language when they were at school. In many respects our society is in a downward spiral which is a real shame.

I teach year 6 and this week I have been swore at, had children refuse to do something after instructing them to and a girl scream that she "was on her rag" when I wouldn't let her go to the toilet.

I teach year 6 and do not let children go to the toilet in lesson time. Would it bother you if it was child?

Really?

This week?

You had a similar incident "last week" on another forum 10 days ago...

And ever was it so...

"I see no hope for the future of our people if they are dependent on frivolous youth of today, for certainly all youth are reckless beyond words... When I was young, we were taught to be discreet and respectful of elders, but the present youth are exceedingly wise [disrespectful] and impatient of restraint" (Hesiod, 8th century BC)

Well that says a lot right there. Rail forum, football forum, whatever next?

 I do enjoy your blunt comments, Darandio. I love it when people say what they think!:lol:
Except when you use them on me...

which has happened quite a few times before...

I'd like to think the majority of people prefer the truth.

No - CatfordCat is referring to Miss Lauren, who clearly seems to suffer from this problem with children a lot:

Yesterday at http://www.footballforums.net/threads/to-think-kids-speak-to-teachers-to-terribly.267596/ she taught year 2 and had a girl threaten to go to the toilet in the bin.

Maybe it's not the children's bladders that are the problem, but the OP's fantasy obsession with the subject?

Or maybe she's supply and different schools have different attitudes towards going to the toilet at various points through the lesson... I'm not condoning behaviour, because, regardless of what the rest of you think, my tough approach works in KS2, and I don't see why it wouldn't in other schools, but supply is entirely different. Taking children who you may not know into your responsibility, in a school who don't know you and whose procedures you don't know can be really difficult... But this throws a whole shed of other issues into the foray with posting on other forums.

That's entirely possible, though nothing in her postings so far supports that hypothesis. There have been a number of references to 'my school' or similar and the opening post states "I teach year 6...", rather than "I've been teaching year 6 this week..."

But then the post from the previous week is from Y2... Supply can have you doing anything from short day-day, or longer term half-term to end of year.

As I said, entirely possible but that's not the impression I've received from the posts thus far. Statements like:
I would have the same rules no matter what year I taught except year 1.
Where I would expect a supply teacher to say "I have the same rules..."

And the one on Urban75 is from Y3 and also refers to a bin. The OP went silent when people posted suspicions about whether they were genuine or not. Maybe you're right that they might be a supply teacher, but to have very similar incidents occurring with years 2, 3 and 6 in consecutive weeks does seem just slightly suspicious to me! Incidentally, I think your 45 minute approach is a good compromise.

To be fair the bin would work in that situation, as long as it wasn't a wicker one...
This has been a strange thread since the first couple of posts. Quite entertaining in a 'I can't stop looking' kind of way though.

I've read the entire thread on the football forum and after carefully considering all the evidence (including noting consistently poor standards of English), my conclusion is that the Miss lauren92 is not a teacher and the post is a wind-up.

However the motivation is a complete mystery to me.
I teach year 6...
No, you don't!

You could at least have posted a consistent story across the multiple forums you posted on, but by failing to do so, you have made it easier for us to rumble you.

This thread is therefore locked.
