To clarify, AC1 (stage 1) is the following/understanding information, error id test and the SCAAT test? And AC2 (stage 2) is the communication exercise and a competency based interview? If so, do both of these stages take place on the same day or an additional day for AC2? The email wasn't very clear about this.

Correct regards the tests. They are on separate days.

Yes I agree... the way the email was structured.. it kind of seemed like if successful it would take place on the same day.. anyone?

AC2 will only take place if you pass AC1 and, as mentioned, it'll be on a separate day. AC1 is purely exams so don't worry at all about any interview type stuff. The practice material and the advice in this thread is plenty of information for AC1 preparation. Good luck all.

Room for one more inside? :D

Yeah! The invite is here for a selection of dates at the beginning of November. Am I the last one off the ship? If so, I best put the lights off.

Very pleased to hear! Best of luck on the assessment days. There are bound to be some more I reckon but obviously not on this forum.

Hi all, newbie here.

I got an email yesterday inviting me to an interview but actually it turns out to be an assessment AC1 I believe you guys refer to it as. That was quite a wait, I didn't think I was successful at application due to the numerous emails received saying you done alright but not quite good enough until now. Mad.

I'm booked in for November 7th. Anybody else?
Is there parking available at Ashfield house or would it be easier to train/tube it?

I have read this thread in its entirety and I thank you all for informs that's. even shared.

No parking at Ashfield House. There's on street parking but it'll be very hard to find a space and I believe you have to pay.

If you can then tube it to West Kensington

Edit: there is a large Tesco across the road you could park in but not sure if they will be happy you being there for 4 or so hours....

Thanks for that Lrd, think I'll train and tube it then. I assume it's easy to find from tube station?

Exit the station, turn left, left into the side street and keep walking straight. It's the tall, ugly building in front of you. The entrance is round to the right hand side.

Thanks very much.

Will the practice material be sufficient to pass ac1?

Alright chaps just wanted to ask do you get to see a copy of your contract to look over it before the contract signing date? I start end of Oct and have my contract signing on Oct 18th, would like to see it before handing in my notice at current job. Cheers

I don't think it is available before the contract signing date, you are however given time to review it and ask any questions before signing on the dotted line. There is nothing untoward in the contract iirc

Is there a dress code for AC1?

No, and there was quite a variety of different "outfits" present when I went, some were in suits, some in t-shirts and tracksuits, I was somewhere in the middle with a shirt & trousers but no jacket or tie. I don't think it really matters for AC1 but my personal feeling is that I'd never turn up to something like this wearing jogging bottoms and a t-shirt!:roll:

Goes without saying though that if you reach AC2 then it's the full works, suit, tie, best shoes etc etc.

Anybody know a good hire shop? :D:D:D

Can't remember the last time I wore a suit; uniforms a plenty, but that's it. Blimey, I don't even have a jacket hanging in the wardrobe! Not poor or a slob. just relaxed! ;)

Was given the date back in August now. I would of started sooner but I had a holiday booked mid October. Got a call about 2-3 weeks after I completed my background checks
