When and where were they fitted ? The damaged vehicle went to Brodies at Kilmarnock for the collision damage unless the work was done there and the other vehicle stayed at "home" and helped to form 150938
.

It can be for any number of reasons, and with continued delays to electrification there is no certainty to ANY of the GW stock cascades.

It is likely it is for the Old Oak Common open day, as I said in my original reply when the question is asked. You can't pass off what you believe to be the case as a certainty however, because all things rolling stock on GWR are far from certain.

Reminds me of the new MML livery. Plain colours seem to be the way forward at the moment.

I assume he means the defunct MMLs newer livery (as opposed to the older turquoise and orange

Ah, ok; 'last' would probably have been the clearest way of describing it but I don't think that's nearly as plain as GWR's livery. GWR's is just green, the MML livery had white patches as well as the dark body colour.

Can someone explain to me why a bit of blue paint couldn't be found to patch up the front rather than producing this abomination? If it's going to be revinyled, I despair!!!

Just a guess: presumably, that bit won't get the vinyls. The panted area is a complex curve rather than flat/curved in one dimension only. For a short term job, why pay more to have a more complicated sticker?

Not sure if it's been already mentioned but Rail Magazine has confirmed that GWR will be keeping - 43002/005/041/042/185/187/188 for shorter sets.

Thanks, I've just posted the information over there. I think most people expected all of these to appear in the list since they've all been repainted in some form with the exception of 43042.. what significance does this powercar hold?

I wonder if 002 and 185 will keep their special paintjobs for these services or if they'll go green at some point.

I'd be surprised if they were repainted.. mind you, if GWR are remaining Adelantes and Pacers.. God knows what the plan is.

The heritage 'paintjobs' on 43002 and 43185 are (sadly) largely stickers rather than paint, only the nose is paint (which is why the stripes on 43185 didn't line up at first until either the paint or the stickers where changed to fix it).

143603 returned to Exeter from Barton Hill after re-painting some weeks ago now, hardly did any work before it was stopped with square wheels. After a wait, it eventually came up to SPM where it might even be waiting for wheelsets as there has been a supply problem..

Hmmm, I saw 620, 611, 612 and 'another' today. I assumed the other was 603 but evidently not. Any ideas?

On the subject of 158s, what is the situation with seating styles? As at present there has always been two carriages with the style found on Northern's and SWR examples whilst the third carriage has always been Richmond seating. I must confess whilst I've been on 158956 I haven't seen if all three carriages are now the same style throughout following refurb?

Yes, that is correct - all carriages in the refurbished 158s now seem to have the original style seats. No idea where they have got the extras from, maybe from old ATW or EMT units or class 153s?

A blessing, if I may say so. I find the Richmond seating gives you the sensation your bum is going to slip off the seats!

Whenever I catch a 158 I will always opt for Coach A or B for that reason, as Coach C seems to be the extra with the Richmond seating (unless 158952 turns up which oddly has Richmond layout in all three carriages!)

Heard that 150244 back at PM from Wolverton and 150216 back from Doncaster and working Bristol to Worcester today. Not sure which 150/2 going to Wolverton next due to conflicting reports, ? 219 or ? 249 Just have to wait and see.
