Good morning,

When I logged on to my email account just now, I was surprised that there were no messages re postings on the Forum, there is usually one or two each day and I can see that some of the threads that I have replied to, have been updated during yesterday. I just thought this was strange and wonder if anyone else has experienced a similar occurrence. I have received emails from other sources overnight. Thanks.

What email system (Yahoo, GMail, etc) are you using? Might be a glitch with just one email provider

Glad it is not just me.

I have checked in spam/junk folder at it too is empty.

I am on the BT email system, but I have received other mails in that system overnight.

I know that BT's spam filtering (at the server level) can get a bit trigger-happy. It would be worth raising this to their attention - my suggestion is to use live chat as the front line phone tech guys won't understand.

Many thanks najaB, I think I'll see how it goes and if the problem still persists tomorrow will try what you suggest.

I shall also see what happens in next couple of days and maybe do the same. I am supposed to be doing the London meal on Monday and hope I dont miss any important info.

I find that Gmail confiscates quite a bit of stuff, including emails from people in my address book [on Outlook express.]
I found it out by logging in to my account on the internet and checking the spam folder there... lots of things I had been looking for! Even marking them "Not Spam" doesn't seem to stop it confiscating them a month or two later...

Hotmail (MSN) is slightly different, it divides the main inbox (non-junk) as Focused or Other. The Railforums emails are sent into "other".

BT for me also, and yes plenty of others emails from elsewhere.

I too have the BT system and have noticed that the RailUK Forums Friday thread email notifications, plus the PM ones, were all missing when I looked in my inbox first thing on Saturday morning.

I also noticed that recently the time that I normally can find such email notifications in my inbox has been moved from 0005 to 0105.

I think it's pretty clear that the spam protection system has taken a dislike to mail from railforums.co.uk. Probably a combination of volume and some people marking it as junk.

It will be relatively easy to get it resolved, if I still worked there I'd raise it internally, but now it needs to be raised by a customer.

I'm surprised the RailUK Forums tech team haven't noticed a lot of 55x error reports, but then the messages might be being soft failed.

Well it is now 06.24 on Sunday Morning and I have just logged onto by email system and there were, I am pleased to say, a number of emails/postings from RailForums, so hopefully the problem has resolved it self. Will see what happens tomorrow.

Having just had the first opportunity to check today, everything now appears to be back to normal here also.

Same here, just checked last email from the forum was a couple of days ago, should have had emails since then for subscribed threads. None in my spam folder. I use Yahoo for the forums

I have forgotten to check my subscribed thread e-mails from the website in my BT mail inbox for a couple of days, so I have just logged in to it to check on matters.

Whilst all the usual B & Q, John Lewis, etc, ones were all there, there was nothing at all from this website.

English is my second language.

I've had a look at some of your recent posts and they are mostly well written with correct spelling, punctuation and grammar, in fact they are a lot better than those of many native English speakers. What went wrong with post #21?

Yes, stopped receiving the overnight emails a couple of days ago, on threads that have had comments made on them. Using BT email service if that is relevant.

I also noticed a couple of days ago lots of 'spam' threads with Greek style 'crylic ?' lettering for the OP name.

I haven't received any forum messages for ages but I don't know whether it's because I opted out or there's a fault with the forum. I wasn't sufficiently interested to find out which.

That was obvious.

I'm also not receiving subscriptions (for the past 3 days or so). I'm with BT Yahoo.
