Darlington is in play for the Tories and to be honest I'm expecting Middlesbrough South and Cleveland to go Tory as well. As far as I can tell UKIP voters have, on the whole, gone to the Tories so they are now perhaps performing much better than they have in previous election in the Tees Valley. Let's not forget that there is a Tory Mayor in these parts as well!

The Radio 4 coverage of this is utter rubbish - it's only just confirmed Newcastle North and Kettering

Klunesberg tweeted Labour are confident of holding Darlo. Boro has decalred for Labour.

Where are you seeing this as am watching BBC1 on BBC Iplayer and its not showing that announcement?

Twitter. I know it's not the best source, but this one is frankly no surprise. Also, am fairly sure this account is trustworthy.

This one's from BBC1.

Labour: 22,681
Liberal Democrat: 1,031
Conservatives: 19,401

GET IN! Jenny Chapman is a good local MP. However I think the Tories lost this because of the link I set out above. Caused absolute outrage and disgust and probably pushed jenny Chapman over the line.

On the slight off-chance that my local MP is ousted, please don't mind if I go a bit OTT with emoji, block caps and exclamation marks.

But general elections are decided by the results in marginal constituencies in our fptp system. Thus a pretty good picture can be drawn from sampling those seats considered to influence the overall result the most. The rock solid blue and red seats are very unlikely to change so it's reasonable to assume no change in them.

But they've picked up only a small number of polling stations. Even within constituencies there'll be huge variation. There's a risk they'll have picked up on small local sentiments by picking one polling station that isn't representative of the constituency as a whole.

Totally with you here, an absolute joke of a party who have been hopeless at governing Scotland, ineffective in London, obsessed with 1 thing only and cannot understand the word, NO!

Sorry Me123 but thats my view.

Don't apologise for your view, but I can only strongly disagree. I've moved to Wales and I can assure that the SNP administration perform to a far higher standard than Labour down here. Working in the NHS, things are MUCH rosier in Scotland. The SNP have some way to go with policing and justice, but I don't think they are "hopeless" by any stretch of the imagination. The SNP MPs have punched well above their weight in parliament and did a far better job of holding the government to account than Labour.

I've not spent the evening rooted to the TV/radio but I think I just heard that Amber Rudd is under threat with a possible recount on the cards. Is that true does anyone know?
