16654 on St Benedicts School and Whitehaven School for "Bransty 33A"

16734 went into Workington towards Bus Station at around 15:50 from near Police Station. it had "Stagecoach" with part of the logo on the display. as he went around the corner from Washington Street onto Jane Street, the cab door flew open, so the poor driver was trying to get a double decker round a tightish corner whilst trying to close the cab door.

they'd have been one for it if it wasnt on BNG lol. rather odd having a low floor on BNG Contract, its usually B10m / 709d / vario / oly

it gets annoying lol.
2 low floors disappeared off Frizington routes, shoving B10m's on, 709d on town services while 33168 flies around on BNG, 16734 running "dead" when it could be out on school work or BNG lol

I got a proper look at one of Prestons new Scanias this evening. Im impressed and they are bigger than I thought they would be!! I like the DP seating its looks quite comfortable, saloon lighting was bright but not overly so. I was suprised to see seatbelts fitted though is this some kind of new EU rule that Ive maybe missed? I also liked the large Titan-esque radiator grille on the rear o/s panel. Enigine was nice and quiet too.

correcting my earlier post, there are 2 other B10m's on 31! 20129 and 20134!
a 56reg dart, versa, and an E300 are "missing" from service lol.
33167 has swapped round with 47024, so now 47024 is on Harrington and Seaton, and 33167 on Moorclose Circular 50. i have been told this is due to extra standing capacity on solo's, and the service is popular with school kids heading to Seaton from town centre.
14257, 1423x and another oly (presumably 16733, it usually is lol) on school work.
seen 20757 with "000" on side display at 13:10 ish in Whitehaven heading out to Lillyhall, and 42534 was on layover on Tangier Street but didn't see what was on the display.

The seatbelts on the Scanias may be because DP seating rather than bus seating was specified. As I understand it, buses without seatbelts are speed limited (to 50? 56?), however ones with seatbelts are allowed up to 60mph, or possibly 62mph (100kph)

D1 failed just outside Carnforth today. Think it was the F reg Oly but not sure as I was half asleep lol. Was in 14235 for D6 today and as we stopped at Crag Bank the driver was a bit hard on the brakes and the seat covers on one of the seats flew off leaving on the black mettle frame. The interior of that bus is horrific lol.

Actually, the bottom parts of the seats (the bit you put your bum on) are designed to be removable - I can remember on one of the LakesLink Olympians, someone removing a cover. You just have to know which way to move it


At the risk of being accused of "Back Seat Moderating", can I just say a few words about spelling; generally it's very good, but there are a few that annoy me slightly.
"I sore" should be "I saw" easy that one, saves a few keystrokes
likewise "I seen" should be "I saw"
And, to finish for now, in Dallamlad's post above, "mettle" should be "metal"

If you can all just take a few more seconds over your posts, you'll make the world a nicer place 8)

yOur rite speling iz bad sometimes but i doo my best 2 keep it up 2 scratch. And besides its more typos that are the problem not spellings my dear boy.

Yes the seats are designed to come off obviously but the rest should stay where it is lol. Oh well its only used for schools really lol.

Princess of Kendal, currently owned 3 service buses, and operate the following services:- 41A Town Centre - Oxenholme, 44 Town Centre - Hallgrath, a one of 43 Town centre - Sandylands at 08.30 all normally worked with the Plaxton Primo (see Photo). Please note that Stagecoach explore tickets are valid for travel on these services, as there are operated jointly with Stagecoach.

They also operate the 597 Windermere Town service with an Iveco minibus. Unfortunately, Stagecoach explore tickets are NOT valid on this service.

The third bus which is owned is 1996 Mercedes-Benz 609D, which normally only used when one of the other two are off the road.

40001 has went onto Moorclose 50 from Seaton 47. boards in window on 40001.

32917 was on Tangier Street at approx. 12:50 on layover from Egremont 30A.
20737 was the B10m i saw on 31. there was also another B10m on 31, which has new dual purpose seating.
20768 and 20129 on annexe at Workington Bus Station.

Drivers seats are excluded from the rules. Truck and bus drivers are not required to wear them as far as I am aware. I think also that the speed restriction only applies while in service.

As I say, this is just my understanding, I could well be wrong.

17022 has had a retrim, there was UID B6 with "Stagecoach" stuck on the display and window boards on the 7 Vale.

18328 was on the 1556 6A to Morecambe

No, it'll just be taking Morecambe time to debrand/repaint them, in between keeping the Lancaster fleet running. They also may be waiting for that Solo (what number is it?) to arrive so Barrow can collect them all at once.

if what i've heard is true, once 47018 and 47020 are in service at Barrow, 47019 will disappear to get its branding removed. apparently one of them had to be sent early for emergency 709d replacement!
