Hello all,

I am off for a jolly next Wednesday and have decided on Newcastle to try out

Im wondering if anyone here has any recent experience of the place and where best I would maximise my numbers (I have roughly 4 hours up there)

Also, is anyone aware of a all in one ticket I can purchase that would get me metro and bus travel around the outskirts incase I fancy a trip out to Jesmond or Gateshead or somewhere similar

Thanks in advance.

You can stand by Haymarket bus station exit and grice away as it covers the Elson Square entrance. The junction of Market Street and John Dobson Street too. Gateshead Metro, Heworth Metro or North Shields are reasonable bets too

If you're coming by train, the PlusBus has pretty good validity, although you can only use it on buses and not on the Metro.

The obvious places are outside Haymaket Bus Station on Percy Street, outside Haymarket Metro on St Mary's Place, Blackett Street/Eldon Square, Neville Street by Central Station, Gateshead Metro, MetroCentre.

If I was going to pick three places for maximum coverage it would be

Entrance of Eldon Square bus station (which also doubles up as the exit of Haymarket bus station)

Somewhere around Market Street/Pilgrim Street sort of area (to get the services that don't use the bus stations, Fab 56, Coaster, Green Arrow, Blue Arrow etc)

Gateshead Interchange (which in case you didn't know you can walk to,just across the High Level Bridge)

Just a quick note to everyone who offered their opinion on the places to try. Very much appreciated!.

Apart from the weather, I had a fantastic time. I went to Haymarket/Eldon Square, Gateshead Interchange and then finally Pilgrim Street (I think it was called anyway), just near Monument station.

Loads of new numbers and when I finally get the chance to go through my pictures I shall try and post a link up here for anyone who may be interested.

Thanks again everyone !!
