Just to clarify, the reaction test with coloured buttons, Hi lo sound etc is no longer used? I've done similar testing but not train driver psychometrics, so in the queue for a date coming up.

Also, has anyone previously completed physcometrics and still waiting to hear back after the initial congratulations on passing assessment day.?

Yep thats me. Although i havent told them i had previously completed some of the tests. Was waiting to get confirmation of the dates first and would let them know. Do you know if theres some centralised system where all these scores are kept? Maybe VTEC check this first? I have no idea.......

Thanks for the reply, I put in for Newcastle.
I have went from a high of being offered a position pending medical and had my medical mid January and apart from email from well being advisor saying it was all ok nothing since which is disconcerting and frustrating at the same time!

I am the same as you, passed everything and had medical and passed that and not heard a peep since....That's almost 4 weeks ago the medical.

Getting SLIGHTLY worried now as I heard they are starting the DB qualified guys first seperatly.
P.s. I'm also Newcastle depot.

Hi Guys,

Those that have had medicals, what was required in the medical?

Did you have to give access to your medical records as I currently don't have a doctor? :|

Cheers

I had an email today asking to complete a medical questionnaire and once complete I'll have a date for a medical. Training is in march for the first set and I'm down to start in may. My assessment was in early January and psychometric testing was last week

Hi who was the email from? Was it Virgin or was it the company doing the medicals as they said I would be receiving the medical questionaire through but that was 2 weeks ago now so just worried they have sent it to a wrong email.

No my company don't know that I have got the job im keeping totally quiet now until I get it in writing. My line manager knows but told him it was a private matter and not to discuss with anyone.

The person asking about medicals....VTEC have brought medicals in house and have their own medical staff and company doctor.

As far as I'm aware I have got the job just not officially in writing yet, but it appears nobody has, qualified or not.

Thanks dugster.

Early night for the psychometrics tomorrow. Have to be there for 1030 for computer tests. Apparently you get told afterwards whether or not you have passed to determine if you stay for the remainder of the day for MMI.

Is this the right format for those who have completed? I'm most nervous about 2 hand eye coordination.

Good luck for tomorrow!
Whilst I've not sat the tests yet, from what I've heard from other people that is the correct format. They whitle down the numbers throughout the day which then culminates in sitting the MMI for whoever has passed the tests. I'm most worried about the 2HAND and ATAVT.

I currently have a week off work so it would have been great for me to attend the session tomorrow. But alas I'm still awaiting a date to sit the tests.

Advice for those taking 2hand. First time I sat tests I was really accurate barely went outside lines and failed for taking to long. Re done a year later went as quickly as I could whilst maintaining accuracy. Went outside lines about 5 times per shape but passed. Remember it's about speed and accuracy. I assumed accuracy was more important 1st time and blew it.

Listen guys I know sometimes I'm the villain on here but although nerves are a part of life you mustn't let it destroy your dreams, if you've been selected for psychometrics then you've already been through some pretty stressful stuff in the application process. Go there confident in your own abilities and if it doesn't work out then you can say I did my best. I know it's not easy but don't walk away thinking nerves got the better of me, confidence is key, good luck

I totally agree with what you've said! As long as I go in prepared, confident and with a clear mind, that way I won't have any regrets! It worked at the assessment day anyway.

When I took the 2 hand test (and passed) I thought I had taken too long as there was only 1 other person left in the room out of 7 and we could leave room when finished.
Outside chatting, others had said they just smashed the ball round the track and did it as fast as possible getting the buzzer loads when it went out.
I did set the buzzer off but was trying to be more accurate on corners but fast on straights.
I know I passed,but did they ??
If you do go off course, get the ball back on track ASAP and carry on but don't panic.
Good luck !

Seen elsewhere, reports of qualified and trainee recruits from this campaign already in training.

They did say in my Q&A session that the first class were due to start on the 26th Jan, and a month after for the next, then one a month for the remainder of the year. But as stated above, I don't think anyone who uses the forum is one of them (Or haven't said they are)

Hi pal, it won't let me PM you for some reason. It took exactly a week from testing to receiving the medical email. I believe there is a backlog however and they are prioritising people due to start in March first.

Hi,
Did anyone get asked if they have any commitments planned ?
I'm getting a bit worried as I have laid iver £2k for a holiday / wedding abroad at the end of July .
Ps does anyone have a phone number for Azuma recruitment ? I've emailed twice without reply and I don't want to bombard them with emails.

I am in the same boat. I am awaiting my medical but haven't had chance to tell anybody that I have a wedding and honeymoon book at the end of July. I have tried contacting them on a couple of occasions but nothing seems to be getting a reply for some reason.

I'm pretty sure this was asked at my Q&A and was told no leave will be granted within the first 6 months apart from a week after rules going into traction.
