Yeah I'm in the same position atm, just waiting for a test date. I imagine with the high workload the talent team have got and the number of people that still need to undergo the pyschometric tests, it wouldn't surprise me if there's a few extra test dates that were not on the sheets we had to fill out. Just got to be patient really

Surely they are dealing with much smaller numbers now though? 78 positions with a number being filled by qualified drivers. Can't be that many left in the running? How many are expected to fail psychometrics? If all pass, would the jobs go to those with the highest marks or a combo of cv and results?

I don't think there is a DMI. Well it hasn't been mentioned at any point. From my understanding if you pass the pyschometric tests you get a job offer offer subject to passing a medical.

No idea to be honest! I guess only HR really have the answer to your questions. I can't imagine them adding an additional stage at this point in the process as some people already have job offers subject to medical. It wouldn't be very fair for people that have had their assessment days/tests later in the process.

I think they mentioned - and maybe others can confirm - that they said in the q&a that there may be more positions than first thought.
With approx 15 assessment days and around 30 candidates on each that's 450 of us left after the CV and checking test phase. Of course, we don't know how many people were lost after the assessment days, but certainly at the business end now.

With regards to the DMI (interview) , when I completed my physcometric testing a couple of years ago I had to do an interview which lasted nearly 2 hours on the same day. It's the last thing you do on the physcometrics day. The interview was conducted by a third party ( not the employer ) and they interview you and Write everything down. I'm assuming this interview stays on your record for other company's to look at .

Also , it was mentioned during my assessment day that they have "more" positions to fill now due to some extra routes being planned.

This is the case. It was stated at assessment centre that on psychometrics day you will also have a multi modal interview. Following this you will be offered a position subject to medical if successful. That's what we were told so no mention on DMI at this point.

Personally I suspect that assessment centre days will have seen off more than half of those that attended though it's worth bearing in mind that more people fail at MMi and psychometrics than at any other stage so they would hope to have sufficient candidates to at least have a chance of some getting through. If somehow we all pass I would think some may go on a reserve list (depending on grades from psychometrics) and fill places left by anyone who either fails, or drops out of, training (if there are any). I'm clutching at straws of course as really speaking, beyond the talent team, who knows?

One thing I will say is we've all done very well to get this far so look on that as a positive rather than sitting and sweating because we haven't had emails with dates yet. All will be revealed in time.

I'm sure they said there would be an MMI or DMI, I can't remember which, for those who pass the psychometrics. I'm sure she said it would be on the same day.

Not that it applies to me as I'm just not a group discussion type of guy and felt like a fish out of water. I guess if I want their job, I have to jump through their hoops how they want me to.

this isnt the case. if you pass the pyschometrics you just get through to the next round.
the next round being a multimodal interveiw which will last for hours, will be in several different stages and may take place in the afternoon after the metrics.

The MMI forms one part of the pyschometric tests so I'm well aware of it. The DMI and MMI are two different types of interviews. The MMI will only take hours if your answers aren't detailed enough or you give poor examples and you start getting probed all sorts of questions.

Hi guys, been following these forums a few weeks now but just decided to make an account so I can contribute. I attended the Newcastle Group Assessment Day on the morning of 19th January, was fortunately successful and was required to attend a Psychometric Assessment on the 1st February at DB Doncaster. Thankfully I passed that and I'm just waiting to hear off VTEC, I believe the only remaining stage is the medical? Feel very excited and fortunate to be where I'm at currently but also don't want to count my chickens yet! I wish the best of luck to everybody else in their applications!

If I remember correctly , I'm sure some of the interview questions were based i the situational awareness part of the physcometrics .

Finally had some further communication today, I Am booked in for medical!

You will be interviewed in the afternoon if you're fortunate enough to get that far. I was the only one left and 15 of us started. You have to write down answers to six questions on paper in 20 minutes, then you are grilled on them for over an hour

Have you found out the date of your medical? I had an email saying I passed everything and had to send information over to book in for a medical but haven't heard anything back and that was on the 26th January.

They were the old tests the new ones are apparently a little less forgiving, I think most of my group failed the reaction test, headset coloured buttons etc which you don't do anymore, you'll be fine, my son in law passed them a couple of years ago, if he can pass them anyone can!

6 people on mine a few years back and 2 failed. You could get 100% pass rate on every course in theory so stay positive.
