No link - it's all over the papers and the news (although strangely the Telegraph website won't allow comments, although the Graudian does.....).

1. It's now supposed to be "easy" to switch out-of-contract...is it??
2. Will all the other companies follow?
(a) Yes or (b) Yes
3. Do you believe n-powers reasons/excuses?
4. How much of the increase is due to the Pound falling (er, hello, Brexit)
and
5. I'm with OVO, and I think they're wonderful, was with n-power for a while in the 00's and thought the n stood for no power, no customer service, they were useless and the bills were unintelligible. Who are you with, and can you recommend?

We left EDF and followed the 38 Degrees switch.

https://secure.38degrees.org.uk/pages/the_big_switch_phase2

Fed up of giving money to the big ones.

My concern is that as people leave the Big Six, they will turn to the smaller companies who will get bigger and become part of the Big Six and it all becomes a merry-go-round.

That's a stand-still merry-go-round as we can't afford to power it.

Wonder if power increases will end up causing a hike in rail fares (just like there wasn't a drop when fuel and power prices fell recently)?

How many s's in Cynical??

There's always the risk that if you change companies, you'll eventually find yourself back in a similar position when company x raises it's prices.

Ofgem recently released a Supplier Cost Index - essentially some data saying there was no excuse for price rises if companies hedge properly, particularly in electricity.

Get in early and fix seems to be the key, but recently those that did missed out on prices falling. But generally how often do prices fall??!!
