Thanks to Pathfinder, EWS, Riviera and Hanson for a great day yesterday. The reason for the late start was the signaller at Derby kept directing 2,3 and 5 car trains in to platforms 1, 2 and 3 (the only ones able to accomodate a train that size at the moment), instead of 4 or 6. So it was put down as 'severe congestion' rather than 'forgetful bobby'
Loads of slack in the timetable though, so by the time we were at Wen we were about 5 early. It had to be some of the biggest mixed bag of stock I have ever seen though!
Oh, and the tour was NOT cold turkey, as there was a genny van

lovely and warm in the mk1s especially. Got back to Derby on time at 2240 last night, where the grid was detached, then the 67 took the stock out east (on the way back the locos were TnT as opposed to DH).
And it wasn't 56312 with wheelflats, it was the mk2s
