just saw in Morecambe for the second time this week a Solo with an oddball livery - predominantly white with red/blue curvy ribbons down the side. Looked like it was on ferry duty between the depot and Lancaster bus station. Reg (from memory) was X243VWR. No reference to it online - any ideas anyone?

That's the one they use as an info bus at the Bus Station, usually parked on the 89 stand

From Dalton in Furness, I have been to Kendal three times recently, my Question "BIOs and Olympians not allocated any more at Kendal", only seen 16660 on 755 which I know is Lancaster allocated.

For the past 3-days, I have been out and about photoing buses, working the services which have been withdrawn this weekend.

Unfortunately, most of the drivers (all Morecambe depot based) thought it would funny to make rude gestures. I wonder, if I was to send these photo's to the Traffic Commissioner, if these driver's would find it funny.

However, I didn't have any problems with any drivers from Fleetwood or Kendal depots.

Traveller's Choice haven't taken over KLCH from what I understand; John Shaw (owner of Travellers) has simply taken a majority shareholding in KLCH.

I see that some (if not all) of the Dallam School contracts have gone to Traveller's Choice. Presumably thats helping to cull the remaining Olympians? There used to be six or seven deckers on those contracts serving just Lancaster and Morecambe, operated from Kendal, which all seem to have changed. Presumably there were more serving Ulverston & Kendal?

Stagecoach has some of the ex-First Bluebird schoolbuses for sale in the trade press this week. I can't remember how many there are, but they are up for the princely sum of £4,995 each.

Anyone know which turns on the 42 Lancaster Blackpool still regularly produce olimpians? In Blackpool next week and would like to do the full run for what may well be the last time with an Ollie?

That's a Ferrymill vehicle. They're based in Torrance just outside Glasgow and do repairs for operators including Stagecoach. It's likely that there's a vehicle up there getting repaired and Ferrymill have gave them FM31 until their own vehicle gets back.

FM31 is actually a Wright MAN Meridian and has seen almost all of the UK...

It's been Preston on and off most of this year sometimes alongside Fm33. I gave up paying much notice to them months ago as they are here so often!

why do Morecambe's "good" buses all end up being stolen for use elsewhere?

And where's the point in two MANs from up there coming here (22595/6), if two other buses go the other way? Surely fleetwise it's easier keeping things together, unless the intention is to make Morecambe all MAN? Seemed to do OK with the X-Reg ones...

Not noticed any E300s with no 3/4 branding (but not been looking)- maybe the E300s and the MANs are going to end up common user?

I have seen 22597, 22598 & 22599 in service in Lancaster/Morecambe in the last week.

27745 as have the route branding removed from the near-side, but still have route branding on the off-side!, when working service 5 earlier. 27746 still have route branding on both sides. According the online fleet list these are now based at Lillyhall.

I have just heard that some Tridents, are due to be transferred from Devon to Morecambe, to replace the Olympians.
