Between Moat lane Junc and Newtown there are piles of new steel sleepers placed alongside the track.
At Caersws there are piles of new concrete sleepers ready to be used, as well as bags on new ballast.
There are also bridge works going on at one of the Severn Bridges outside Newtown, and by the new Mart of Welshpool.

Yes I've clocked them to and rail/road vehicles at Newtown.

Third-world railway!? Grow up.

Here's an actual third world railway. I know the Cambrian has a bit of a rough time funding wise, but not quite this level This line does have steel sleepers though (you can't quite see it on this photo). I spent many years in this village, which is just outside Kisumu, Kenya.

Incidentally, the train to Butere (where this photo is taken) was delayed by about three days due to derailing in the valley.

The little longitudinal bridge is being removed at the back of the Market, not sure about the Newtown end but judging by the amount of bagged ballast delivered i reckon it's being filled in also.
