I urgently need to reply Tfl with 10days...
I was coming from work last week, decide to go thru Euston Square station to Liverpool and connect to Barking...normally I go thru Camden becos my weekly ticket is Zone 2-4
If I need to pass thru other Zones, I usually top up my Oyster Card (on the same card)...
On this particular day, I had £3.80 PAYG on my Weekly oyster...so, I went thru Euston Square Station, went thru the lift and completely forgot to touch (inshort I was on the wrong side of the platform to my direction..
Coming out of the lift were the Tfl officers..and they said I didn't touch...I was sure I touched, then realised in a minute I didn't... I told them I completely forgot but the officer just brought out her jotter started writing all sort...
She asked where I was going to, I told her Liverpool (which I was on the wrong side of the Platform)... But she was more interested in her jotting than anything I had to say..
Well, I decided to let her write, I told her I wasn't on the train and that I have PAYG that can cover my journey.. All she was saying was but you didn't touch..
After her writing, she asked for an proof of ID, dob and address that I will get a letter from TFL..and signed..I was too tired to even read all that she wrote because my Son wasn't feeling well at home, that's even what made me pass thru Euston in the first place..to make my journey shorter to get home..
I asked if I was going to prosecuted but she said can't say until I get a letter...
She asked why I didn't touch, told her I forgot
She asked if I have another ticket to cover my journey, told her again that I have PAYG on my Weekly Oyster Card...she was writing my replies in her note..
She gave me back my Id and my Oyster that I will get a letter...
Got a letter yesterday, that I didn't have a valid ticket to cover my journey and that I should reply back about the Incident on the reverse side of the letter..Failure not to respond will result in the matter being progressed by Tfl without further notification..
Pls I need an advice from expert on this matter.
Thank you
