Can someone come up with an official link to this matter that I have just heard a snippet of on BBC Radio 4 this afternoon.

So you may have noticed that I am off to another place.
I don't think this is my last blog post here, but I did want to say something a bit more personal than normal on this occasion - which is that working for BBC News has been the high point of my working life.
Its unrivalled commitment to objectivity, seriousness and relevance is a beacon. And its journalists, editors, producers and cameramen are world class.
Television is a team game. I want to thank all my brilliant colleagues who for the past 10 years have routinely, through their thorough professionalism, transformed my pig's ears into almost-silken purses.
I've never had a dull moment since I joined. I will miss the BBC terribly.
The BBC's economics editor, Robert Peston, has been poached by rival broadcaster ITV, it has been confirmed, following days of speculation.
He will become ITV's political editor, and present his own political interview programme, Peston on Sunday.

It was mentioned as a half-joke on the PM programme with Eddie Myer on Monday I think too. Personally I find Peston's communication style quite hard to concentrate on

Best piece of news I've heard from the BBC in as long as I can recall, tough luck ITV viewers .......
Surprised to see much Peston hate, I like the guy and have always found his pieces on the BBC news really interesting.
Yes, I think she fits in much better on GMTV or whatever junk she's doing now.Almost as good as when Susanna Reid announced she was leaving Breakfast.
Hopefully he will be made to wear a tie on ITN.
Lured by the big money at ITV and like many before him never to be heard of again. Fingers crossed.

The BBC uses itself as its own staff magazine! As I never watch the BBC I had to search who this bloke was, why is a journalist leaving one channel for another deemed newsworthy as it happens all the time.
