SWT 73 and Lymington CIG tomorrow

Out of interest, is Lymington as a town usually as busy on a Saturday? I was expecting a fairly quiet backwater type place but it was absolutely heaving with presumably locals and a few daytrippers thrown in.

It probably is. Unlike the area I'm used to, Lymington is likely to be the only hive of economic activity for miles around.

No, you got the resort of Bournemouth stretching from Christchurch to Poole only a few miles in one direction........the new forest in the other with the motoring museum, and a few other towns in the area, so there are other economic activities in the area.

When i visited Lymington in Summer 2005, it is quite a busy town but thats said, i visited on a saturday, which was market day! And on a wet rainy day too hock:

I have that down as a 15 mile drive, and Bournemouth as 16 miles. By my standards that's a very long distance to go to find a shopping centre. By econmic activity I mean retail and entertainment for consumers.

I'd much rather live out here in the sticks, where the air is clean, the noise is virtually non-existant (except for wildlife) and the chances of being knifed by one of your peers are nigh on impossible, than in London.

15 miles a very long way ! Townie
