Given that the first candidate from either party has declared that they're running for President, in the shape of Ted Cruz, I felt it was time to open a thread, even though we have another 20 or so months until the election itself.
It's going to be interesting seeing if America chooses a right-wing party (Dems) or a teetering-off-the-cliff-they're-so-right-wing-party (GOP) to lead the country after Obama's second term comes to an end.
But in all seriousness, I reckon America will see another four years of the Democrats in the White House, given that the Republican Party is pretty much toxic at the moment...but I don't think it will be Hilary Clinton though. I can see her falling behind again in the race again like in 2008 to a younger Democrat senator, and the recent scandals won't help her cause.
Meanwhile, Mr Cruz has already put his foot in it by claiming he stopped listening to rock music after 9/11 due to its reaction to the attacks. http://www.nme.com/news/various-art...witter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=tedcruz
Mods, if it's too early to open such a thread, feel free to close it, given that we have an election of our own to discuss for the next few months.

NME said:Republican senator Ted Cruz has said that his taste in music changed following the 9/11 attacks in the US.
Speaking to CBS yesterday (March 24), the Republican senator explained how he "didn't like how rock music responded" to the attacks in New York and instead switched to listening to country and western.
Cruz said he felt more in common with country artists in the years after 2001.
He said: "Country music collectively, the way they responded, it resonated with me and I have to say, just as a gut level, I had an emotional reaction that says, 'These are my people.' And so ever since 2001 I listen to country music, but I'm an odd country music fan because I didnt listen to it prior to 2001."
