Yes but on the tickets it doesn't state which company at all.
Not to worry, all you need is the train time. I'll edit my above post to include the train destinations - that way you know you'll be on the right one.

I asked the man at the station and he just shugged his sholders at me.

If i need the train time only then i think i will be ok

If you have a look at my previous post, the stations I've underlined are where you need to get off (and change trains) and the stations I've made bold is what it'll say on the front of the train, and what it'll say on the electronic information boards.

Make sure you have everything written down! :)

That return journey is a heck of a tour around the midlands, and the change at Tamworth looks a bit shaky, especially if the Northampton train is a little late.

The 5 minutes at Tamworth should be okay if the OP is a quick walker and doesn't have too much luggage, but I agree that a longer interchange time would be preferable, especially with the OP being new to UK rail.

I am surprised that so many changes are necessary, although maybe the journey planner couldn't find a connection at Manchester for one change only.

stefan44 if you're worried about getting lost when changing trains, find the guard about 5 minutes before you're due to pull in. They can find out the platform number for you and point you in the right direction when they open the doors.

All this talk about 19c and season tickets is fair enough but no-one has mentioned that a straightforward flexible ticket didn't cost that much more, at £84.20. That price is shown in Stefan's screenshot.

It's gonna be an expensive day out if Stefan gets lost in Carlisle Castle and misses the 17:10, or gets lucky with a Cumbrian lad/lass and decides to come back tomorrow!

The change at Tamworth is the easiest, simply up a set of stairs from platform 2 to platform 3.

It's a shame that the 18.58 arrival into Crewe doesn't beat the interchange time to the 19.07 Derby train otherwise I'd always get that. Nevertheless it's fair to say that trains do in fact 'come often to Nottingham' the possibility of not making it back on the itinery is very slim.

What time did you eventually get back to Nottingham station?

And yes, if you are delayed due to "the railway", then you are entitled to take the next available train.

In this case, the 21:09.

London Midland tweeted me and they checked and said it was a 6 minute delay which they say it was there fault

I had to press the silver button on the platform for help nobody was at the service booths in the station.

That appears to be an overall delay of 29 minutes to your journey. That's a mild annoyance because if the delay was 30 minutes you could have got 50% of your Advance ticket back as vouchers - so something to be aware of in the future.

Glad you got back okay - hope it wasn't too stressful! :)
