Do you think this was only because of half term? i bet when the kids go back to school things will return to 'normal'.
Unfortunately the 15.37 has been standing room every day M-F since the new timetable started, the school holidays just made matters worse.

Maybe from 1500 onwards they should do splitting and joining and run as 8 cars.

Southeastern is an interesting franchise

It has been turned down to be added to London overground's network and at one time was thought to be merging with Southern and Thameslink/Great northern... Certainly
part is being merged but a small part

It is also interesting that every private company running the franchise has also run the south central franchise at the same time

Presumably merging with Southern etc would make the franchise far too big

Hopefully progress will be made refurbishing the rolling stock and eventually cascading 377s etc to help with the congestion problem

Current rumor is that we are getting 365's

Blackfriars - Sevenoaks and a few peak Blackfriars - Beckenham / Orpinton etc that were shared with GTR. December 2014.

SE won't be getting the 365s. They are going elsewhere.

They would also need new shoegear

They also lack SDO don't they so not much use for the inter-linked metro diagrams, as Woolwich Dockyard's 10 car platforms limit them.

Fork ! I was thinking on the lines of Depots and Staff etc and not on a route basis.

Cheers as usual

465's don't have full SDO and neither do 376's As Long as a unit is shorter than 10 it can stop at the Dockyard. Unless 365's are all 10+ then they wouldn't be an issue on length or SDO. However its non issue as BR has confirmed the rumor is nothing but rumor. (which came from the DM's FYI)

Inter-linked metro diagrams ? What are they ?

Exactly 365s are the same as 465s in terms of no SDO so offer no possibility of 12 car running on the Greenwich line if stopping at Woolwich Dockyard, which almost all peak time services now do, and as services on that line work other metro routes it limits many services across the 3 Dartford lines to 10 car maximum. The point of getting more stock would be to run more 12 car services. If 365s move then not much use on many metro diagrams.

What would've been nice is 377s or 387s with SDO allowing more 12 car services than the very limited handful at present, up to 2018, but no chance of that.

A single station is a limitation for that station only. The other two lines can run 12's with little issue. 12's run up the Greenwich but don't stop there so 12 car services run freely already. I would hazard a guess that Dockyard could benefit from additional services to compensate for the loss but they could be more targeted and run semi fast but then there is an issue of pathways.

The point of getting more stock would be to run more 12 car services. If 365s move then not much use on many metro diagrams.

I had heard the plan would be to use the 365's on the vic's and use the 465 stock to bolster the services where the service was reduced by the creation of 12 cars. (nicking their 4's and giving them 2 instead)

What would've been nice is 377s or 387s with SDO allowing more 12 car services than the very limited handful at present, up to 2018, but no chance of that.

I'm not a train planner by any degree but the 12 car services are only really needed in the peak. The number of crowded trains are minimal because of the mentality of the commuter. The same with the leisure traveler. The 0930 train is heavy but then it drops of a cliff in terms of passenger numbers.

I'm not sure what a unit with SDO can achieve for 12 car services that isn't already happening without it. Its just Woolwich Dockyard that is the "issue" and I don't believe that SDO is that solution there.

We need compatible units with existing stock or replacement units so we can shuffle existing stock.

Part of the gossip is that something is happening soon. I've said on numerous occasions that communication is pathetic on SE so we are reliant on gossip and conjecture and the first I'd know is TC on the roster and the unit when it turn up for me to RW.
