Thats straight up Alun, it doesnt actually work if you type it into the Vultron (Yes I have tried 8-) ) but it written on the list. Pop your head in the cab of 820 & have a look (if you dare :grin: ). Although someone has cleaned up the cab of 820 & most of the crucifixs have gone..... for now.

Seen it once die going over the points at Wolves for no reason whatsoever. Shortly after blocking everything through the station for 20 minutes, restarted and away it goes.

As for you Shane, do you have a rather hellfire beard? :)

Hail All! <D
Arriva Trains Wales mate, usually on Aber to brum services, but get's about quite a bit on other routes including Cardiff's.
Cheers for the info mate! I was hoping that I might be able to catch him on my imminent Blackpool S > Middlesborough working, although maybe if I bend the rules in the National Routeing Guide a little?... ;)
Damien seems to like Metallica's "Enter sandman" & a bit of classic Sisters of Mercy to be honest. ;) To be fair anything dark & twisted would work well.
Hmmm...When I get the time, I'm going to have to send ye some samples from my media library and we'll see how Damien reacts to hearing them... 8-)

I've got a strong suspicion that he'll like BAL-SAGOTH almost as much as I do!:D<D
The list of numbers for the Vultron Destination display has listed as well as for example, Birmingham New Street (097), Chester (165), Balloch express (047) it does also list Hell (666)!
Oh, so Damien is able to run workings that terminate in London then?:razz:

Ahh...I've always wondered what interesting things I could do with some of those PIS displays. If only I knew the communication standards they used, and had a laptop with a serial cable on me at all times... ;)
Nope, no beard here. Although it seems the thing to have at salop these days, somedays the mess room looks like a scene from das boot!
Driver last Monday had a forked monster! Shame he was driving 836 rather than 820!!
Ahh thats one of our DI's, he also rides a Harley. He's actually like a west country version of ZZtop.
Hmmm...Sounds like a much larger and better cultivated version of what I've got growing at the moment! Take a peek at the attached self-photos to see what I'm going on about!:D<D
(Note: Sorry one of the photos is so grainy, but it was done on a camera phone in low light conditions. :( All three were done a year ago as well, and it's grown a bit more since then! <D)

I don't suppose they're looking for new Blood up at Salop are they? Sounds to me like if there's any rail depot that I ought to be working at, Salop is it! 8-):D<D

Farewell... <D

I do like my music kinda hard as does damien. <D Live life hard!

Very true, I hate the place. Too many people with their look at me look at me bling bling lifestyle. The only designer label's I own are Mossberg & Armalite.<D

I think 158 displays were programmed with ZX81's TBH, I would love to hack it. I'm thinking code 66 "**** off you b*stard" would work wonders on a new street service.

Hey nice beard there fella, I can't grow one as they p*ss me off to much. I hate the facial growth feel. Shame as I could grow an awesome one being dark haired.

Salop has it's fair share of different interest's staff. We have a couple of chavy like drivers, a lot of metalheads, some golf people:roll:, aging rockstar kinda drivers, a fair few ex army nutters. It's all good with the Salop Seagulls. Will miss that if I can get over to DRS, but the thrash will be worth it.

Hail again! <D
I do like my music kinda hard as does damien. <D Live life hard!
Hmmm...I'm just interested to see what Damien would make of my taste in music! My tastes have always been particularly heavy, especially in later years... <D

I wouldn't normally turn my MP3 player up loud when I'm on board a train in consideration of other passengers...But if ever I'm lucky enough to catch Damien, I may well have to make an exception... ;)
(I actually found a photo of him arriving at Cyffordd LLandudno on the Arriva website earlier this evening...So I now have the feeling that I might've already ridden him once without knowing it!)
Very true, I hate the place. Too many people with their look at me look at me bling bling lifestyle. The only designer label's I own are Mossberg & Armalite.<D
I fully agree with ye on that point mate! The only use I have for London is as a simple transport interchange! 8-)

Oh, and the only designer "labels" I possess are on my Compaq PC and my Cannon printer!:razz:

If they were programmed with ZX81's, then it'd most likely be an RS-232 (Serial) connection, which can be found on the back of most legacy compatable laptops and controlled using most TTY programs. Ye'd still need to find out the parity (Odd/even/half), word-length (Bits), baud-rate (Bandwidth) and other settings before ye could communicate with the other device though. :?
Try having a snidey peek around the workshop for a programmers manual, and experiment with a spare non-installed unit first. Better still, just ask someone if ye can help them reprogramme them when the time comes! 8-)

Oh, and according to the last DLR Train Capitain that I spoke to...Apparently the ATO computers inside DLR rolling stock are simply ZX81s with their operating system stored on EPROM, and the motherboards connected to a load of relays!:lol:
Hey nice beard there fella, I can't grow one as they p*ss me off to much. I hate the facial growth feel. Shame as I could grow an awesome one being dark haired.
Cheers for the compliment man! My beard is quite a wierd one though, as even though I have dark brown hair, my beard is surprisingly ginger!:lol:<D

Just let thyself get used to the feel of a beard as well, and then ye won't feel it as much. Besides, from what little I know of ye thus far, I'm getting the impression that a beard would suit ye, too...And ye'd help to intimidate the Chavs at Salop, too! <D

Well...If ye are planning to cross over to DRS, I'm hereby making the first cast to become Damien's next possessed driver!:D<D

Seriously, I'd like to drive trains for a living anyway...But driving one with a incumbent Spirit aboard? The idea might frighten most people, but it's something that I'd actually be perfectly comfortable with!:D8-)

And ye have to admit: Damien himself gives a whole new angle to the term "Railway possession", doesn't he?...:lol:<D

Come on, time for a laugh gents.

Fiver for the first driver who works out how to replace 'Birmingham New Street' code with 'Wolverhampton'

It's evidently possible because they keep doing it when they change operators!

Still, I've got the joy of riding on the first up train off Shrewsbury on Saturday (0601 off Wolves) so it'll be interesting to see if all goes to plan with the first move of the day!

Do 175s have Birmingham services in their automatic announcements like they have with Manchester/Holyhead trains?

Hail All! <D
Ye know...This recent talk of hacking destination displays and on-board announcements just seeded a rather amusing vision in my mind of how it could be done on more modern rolling stock that uses x86-based hardware insted of custom made or older technology. Just imagine what ye'd see on thy computer screen after connecting up to the trains on-board system to update the auto-announcer or something...:D:razz:

Although considering that I live a good three miles North of the Southampton main line, it'd take one hell of a USB cable to do this on my PC...:D:razz:
